I sort of look at issues like that in such a way: Who's trying to interfere there? What is it for behind all the shiny advertising about "human rights" and whatever crap they put in the ad?
Don't they have issues of their own to solve?
Especially nations that have no directly related interests to an issue (like e. g. Russia in Syria; Syria's a partner to the RF for decades, by the way, Islamic terrorism ever fell back onto Russia ever since it existed, so it means a serious threat to them if it can prosper not far from its own borders), they shall shut the fuck up and take care of their own business before they feel the need to "teach" another nations.

It might be that the average left/right person try to tackle it from the wrong side. There shouldn't be support for anything out there because someone calls it "an issue of the left/the right", but just from a more generic point of view. From a more generic understanding without first applying the attributes "left" or "right" to them.
