pushing and pulling each other thru their discomfort zones, a fabulous love between two broken men

This review is of: Strong Signal (Cyberlove) (Volume 1) (Paperback)

This is a great book! The characters feel real from beginning to end (and not just the main characters). Their flaws are believable, their actions ring true, and there is no magic solution to their problems. But their love for each other has the power to improve their lives, if only they are willing to surprise themselves and each other, to move beyond their discomfort zones.

I worry this book will get pigeonholed because it is about two gay guys, or because it is about introverted videogamers, or because there is plenty of explicit sex. But this book is about two humans who built unhappily independent lives and then found love pushing and pulling at their defense mechanisms (one resorts to petty violence, the other to disabling panic attacks), forcing them to grow into a steadily more healthy sort of interdependence. I felt a lot of their emotions as I couldn't stop reading ... I needed to know what happened next.

I highly recommend this book!
