A little summary of my time in Laforet Harajuku...

Since I was in Japan, I took the opportunity to visit Laforet (which I found out the Japanese pronounced it Ra-Fo-Re) in Harajuku to do a bit of Lolita shopping. My first stop was to Metamorphose as I had already organised for them to hold a black Victorian Princess Skirt and black Swan parasol for me a few weeks before I left.

My goodness the sales assistants were cute!!! They were super sweet and polite, and I seriously wanted to kidnap them XD Everything was packaged up so nicely and the parasol was tied up in pretty Meta printed ribbon…which I later turned into hair accessories when I got home ^o^…cause seriously, why wouldn’t you? Lol I also received the free 2011 calendar since I placed the order during Meta’s special promotion thingy.

Funny thing is, since I didn’t speak a lot of Japanese, when it was time to leave the sales assistants and I had an awkward moment. I didn’t realise at the time that it’s custom for them to hold your purchases and walk you to the entrance of the store before thanking you and handing over the goods. Not to mention, I kinda wanted to look around more and have my fill of frilly goodness so I asked them to hold onto the items while I looked around…in English…which left both me and the sales girls in a mass of confusion >_<

Giving up, I made my way to Alice and the Pirates store which also had in stock the Cinderella Jewellery print skirt that I adored…just a shame it wasn’t in the colorway I wanted. The sales assistants there were so attentive, noticing that I was eyeing the skirt and actually took it off the hanger to show it to me more thoroughly and even asking if I wanted to try it on (which I declined since the skirt has no zips and my hips are huge so I didn’t want to risk tearing it ^__^; ).

Unfortunately I was shopping with a group of 5 people (3 of which were males) so I couldn’t spend the time I wanted to browse.

I did however nearly ODed when I walked into Closet Child…sooo many Lolita accessories and clothing that I wanted to take home. Problem was that I am still not familiar with all the prints so I couldn’t tell what would fit me and what wouldn’t (stupid 98cm bust). There was a JSK that caught my attention straight away but in order to try it on and see if it fit, I would have had to pull off all the corset lacing where the shirring was and I didn’t think the sales assistants would really appreciate that. My biggest regret cause I found out later that it would of fitted ;___;

Annnnnd the chocomint star clips that everyone wanted were in abundance there too. At the time I didn’t buy it because I always thought it’s more suitable for sweet but now that I’m back, I really wished I would have bought the gold one cause it would have gone nicely with my new Meta Moonlight Night skirt in off-white.

Overall, I only managed to buy 2 pairs of BL shoes and the stuff I ordered from Meta. I reaaaally regretted not buying more stuff but having a lot of people waiting for you didn’t allow the freedom I needed to properly browse. Ahh wells, there is always next time!
