Yamapair rant - A story I'll never write: Tarzan-ish
Effectively procrastinating.
Supposed to be doing my reading for class about the first encounter between Native Americans and Europeans. A slightly bitter part of my mind remembered what happened and then my thoughts branched off...
The Disney movie that came to my mind was Tarzan instead of Pocahontas, which would've made more sense. But I like Tarzan. The Yamapair fic contest at Oretachinosong and the recent Juntoshi fic based off The Little Mermaid influenced my next thought. I wondered how a Yama Tarzan fic would go.
Ohno would take the role of Tarzan. Sho would be Jane. (Though Sho as Tantor would be marvelous: "Is this water sanitary? It looks questionable to me!" Nino would make a great Terk too.) In any case, Jun would make a perfect father figure playing the role of Kerchak, though this is where the story would differ because I wouldn't like Jun as a surrogate father to Ohno. Jun would be better off as someone Ohno wants approval from; as a senpai of the forest probably. Nino would be Ohno's friend. Aiba would be the animal-loving researcher who came to the forest and dragged his fraidy-cat friend Sho along.
What's funny is that Jane was an artist and Sho's art is cute. But again, as the story would be different, the characters would differ too. Because I'd like a fic without someone like Clayton, I'd make Sho and Ohno's acceptance of each other the main problem, maybe. The ending would be the same though, with them staying in the forest.
I wouldn't write this fic.
