“Seriously?! Could you talk to him? Or I can do it! What is his name?” Aiba inquired, practically jumping up and down with excitement. Sho stood just staring at the younger man, at how honestly ecstatic he was about potentially have one more member out of the eleven he was seeking.

“Um, if he is still there after tryouts I can take you to go see him. I don't know for sure if he-”

“Thank you so much Sakurai-kun! I'm going to go look for some more people and meet you back here, okay? Later!”

And he ran off. Just like that. It seemed like the hyped up junior did not stop for anything or anyone. What bothered Sakurai the most, however, was being called “Sakurai-kun” by someone he might have known a total of fifteen minutes that was also younger than he was.

'Maybe he has no boundaries. I wonder if it's safe to introduce Ohno-kun to a person like that...' Sho wondered, looking around the gym aimlessly only to realize he was being stared at. When he looked at his position, he noticed he was more than likely in the way, and he rubbed the back of his head in a nervous way, gravitating toward someone he had never met before. That person was sitting alone on a bench on the sidelines, still in uniform. There was really no reason at all, but the new manager felt compelled to speak with this other student. When he got a good enough speaking distance away from the - probably younger - student, Sho cleared his throat before talking.

“Are you here for tryouts? I'm sure we can find you some extra clothes or something.”

Now, if anyone asked for Sho's personal opinion, this boy would never make the basketball team in his life. Sitting with his feet practically tucked under him with his knees drawn to his chest, how thin he was was apparent even under the uniform. It was almost...strange. Was it possible that this young man was sickly? Sho pitied him for that second until the student looked up at him, sending along with him a smirk.

“Me? No. I'm waiting for MatsuJun.”

As soon as he spoke, Sakurai knew he had heard that voice before. One like that wasn't something easily forgettable.

“Ah! You were the one yelling this morning!” Sho exclaimed before he could stop himself. The male looked at him questioningly.

“I was talking to Matsumoto this morning, but he left when you yelled for him in the hallways,” Sakurai explained, understanding painting itself on the other student's face when he remembered.

“Right. That was me. So you were the one keeping him up? Figures. You're on the team, right? All of a sudden, he said “I'm going to try out for basketball,”. When I asked him why, he said “It has to be something,”. Idiot doesn't even make sense,” mumbled the male, his thin lips forming a cute pout.

“I'm the manager. Matsumoto and I have...met before,” Sakurai tried, desperately in need of a subject change before the stranger asked him about his tone of voice.

“Third year, Sakurai Sho,” he offered, bowing quickly to the other student. In response he earned a laugh.

“First year, Ninomiya Kazunari, but you can call me Nino,” the light brown-eyed boy said, a small smile gracing his features. That was when Sho noticed the small mole on the younger one's face. It was an endearing feature, he had to admit. One that would have charmed the female student population...had he done any athletics.

“Sit with me,” Nino stated affirmatively, not actually offering the option to the older student. Sakurai blinked before obliging, sitting on the bench next to his younger schoolmate. Nino unfolded his legs and reached into his school bag, pulling out a gaming device. Sho identified it as a Nintendo DS Lite, having seen it before but never owning one personally. Ninomiya looked at him and smiled, putting the white electronic device in between the two, still in his hand.

“I'll show you how to play,” the freshman said with another cute smile, opening up the rectangular system and turning it on.

For the rest of the tryouts, Ninomiya giggled frequently at his upperclassman's inability to jump over things and his determination to beat level 5.

Author's Note: I'm sorry this chapter is so short. I was going to finish the rest of the day with Aiba and everything, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it posted today if I did that. So...thank you all for reading thus far! Everyone has been introduced now! I've seen pairing requests mentioned, and now I'm really not sure where I want this to go! I guess all of us will have to find out.

P.S: IT'S SNOWING!!! <3
