I was in a no-fault accident back in February and the other person's insurance (which is Allstate) took full liability for the accident. They paid off my lien less $500. For my injuries and what-not, the rep offered me $1300. When I told her I was still in pain and having migraines and numbness in my arms, and that the whole ordeal has caused me extreme amounts of anxiety, she upped it $200 and acted like it was a blessing she was willing to offer that much. I didn't accept the offer and decided to see a chiropractor (after some advice from friends). Good thing I did, because I have severe whiplash and have to have 3 adjustments a week for 4 weeks, and massage therapy. I have what they call "stepping" in my neck and my neck curves the entire wrong way, hence the migraines and numbness in my arms. In the midst of all this, I've had to take off a week of work due to severe pain. The insurance company won't pay for any of my 'losses' until after my treatment is done, and they will only follow up with me every 2 weeks.
I guess what I'm asking is 1) anyone had a similar experience? 2) anyone have any good suggestions? AND 3) I'm thinking of getting a personal injury lawyer. Any good/bad experiences with lawyers in this field? I've been talking to the Horn Law firm thus far.
[ETA] The accident took place in Independence, MO, if that matters to anyone.
