Hey KC...

I'm looking for the closest pet supply store (Petsmart, Petco, or locally owned) to Barry Rd. I googled the hell out of it, but I live in Atchison so I'm not too familiar with where some of these are located and how long it'll actually take me to get there. Directions from I29 would be an added bonus. =)

Thanks all!

There's a Petco on Armor (basically, go straight down Oak until you get to Armor) and a PetSmart in Liberty off 1-35 and 152. Neither of them are very far from Barry.

The closest big-box stores are the PetSmart in Liberty at 152 and I-35 (just take 152 from I-29 to I-35), and the PetCo in North Kansas City (I-29 to 169 South, 169 South to 9 Hwy towards NKC, it's a couple miles after you get off of 169). Otherwise, there's Fins and Foliage (near 70th and N. Oak Tfwy - http://www.finsandfoliage.com/) and Miles of Exotics (across Barry Rd. from Metro North Mall). That's all I know of in the Northland, sadly. Not much.

(Both the PetCo and the PetSmart are roughly 10 minute drives from I-29 and Barry Rd.)

Looks like the PetCo in St Joe is actually closer to you, but if you'll be in KC anyway, the PetCo on Burlington would be your best bet, I think. To get there from I-29 and Barry Road, head south on I-29 and take the North Oak Trafficway Exit, heading south (towards Kansas City.) North Oak actually gets renamed Burlington as it heads south, so just stay right on that road until you reach the fork in the road (there are lights there, you won't miss it), and veer to the left. PetCo will be right there on your right.

St. Joe also has an UPCO.

I would go to Miles of Exotics. It's straight down Barry, East of I-29. It's not as big as Petco, but they have a nice selection and - unlike most big stores - they are very friendly and really know about animals.
