Keepin’ It Surreal Chapter 12
Merriam Hayden
NAMBULA TENT CITY
KATHY: -screams-
MAGGS: -holdings Kathy up in the air-
E.GUARD: -points a gun up at Maggs-
OTHER E. GUARD: Wait! You might hit Ms. Vedichello!
KANSAS: Gentlemen! We are the resistence, we have your Kathy Vedichello, and we demand that you open all your walls so that we can pass through into the Inner City.
TORRID: -watching from a distance- There’s no way this is going to work.
JANET: I’m torn between wanting it to work and not wanting it to work.
ANGIE: Elijah do you know what’s going on?
ELIJAH: No, not really. I’m not sure what the plan is.
E. GUARD: Can’t we just shoot her?
HYDE: (over communications) No. Take her out and the snake might eat Kathy alive. Not that I’d care.
ERIC: You better care! -grabs the plug in his neck- I’ll unplug you if she dies. Open a channel. -picks a mic- This is Eric Vedichello, current Head of State. I demand that the walls be opened and for all the citizens to leave while they can.
KANSAS: If you can hear me we’ll wait for five hours. Then you can get your sister back after you listen to our demands.
UNDERGROUND LAB
CHIVES: -fighting off clones all badass-
ANNIE: -looks around a vat and sees a door with an access panel thing by it/plays with the thing-
CHIVES: Ms. Cottener? Where are you?!
ANNIE: Chives! Over here!
CHIVES: -runs through the door and it shuts after Annie runs in after him-
ANNIE: -turns around, sees rows of suddenly lit cells- What in the world?
CHIVES: -goes up to a cell that has a scream bird creature- Ms. Cottener, I believe this evidence will suffice.
ANNIE: -takes out a camera and goes up to a chimera-
OUTER CITY
(people are pouring out of the gates/doors)
KANSAS: -waves at a family that passes-
MAGGS: -continues holding onto Kathy who’s pretending to struggle-
KANSAS: Hold onto her tightly! I’d hate to have to kill all these people after all. -another family scurries along-
JANET: You enjoy scaring people don’t you.
KANSAS: Maybe a little bit. I wouldn’t really kill anyone, at least not intentionally. I’d rather these people be safe and alive than having to die in explosions.
JANET: I admire that about you. I don’t think that I would have the strength to not kill.
KANSAS: We can work on that. -holds her hand-
KATHY: -whispers- Maggs, loosen up a bit. I’m uncomfortable.
TORRID: So we charge in guns blazing and then what?
ELIJAH: I don’t know, but I may as well take down the State. I don’t have anything left.
ANGIE: You have that metal thing Kansas gave you.
ELIJAH: Yes, I don’t know what it has to do with stick fighting.
ANGIE: -pushes a button that causes the metal rod to extend into a longer stick-
ELIJAH: Ah. It’s not like my old fighting stick.
TORRID: Your wooden fighting stick. Hopefully this won’t snap over someone’s head.
ANGIE: I’m gonna go help with the radio. -hugs Elijah- Good luck.
ELIJAH: -pats Angie’s head before the boy runs off-
TORRID: I’m going with you.
ELIJAH: Can you fight?
TORRID: The inability to do something has never stopped me before. My advice giving skills for example.
ELIJAH: Torrid, when this is over and if we’re both alive, since neither of us trully has a tribe, would like to continue living together? We can keep Angie and we can be a tribe.
TORRID: We’ll have to talk to his sister about that. Besides, I’d prefer to think of us as a family.
ELIJAH: It’s the same thing really.
TORRID: -leans down to kiss him- If I die don’t hesitate to find another tribe to love.
ELIJAH: If I die you must do the same.
TORRID: Deal.
KATHY: Ms. Janet?
JANET: I see Maggs let you go.
KATHY: I want you to deliver me to my brother. Ms. Kansas wants to chase you into the Inner City while you have me in tow.
JANET: Why?
KATHY: So history doesn’t remember you as a traitor. That’s what Ms. Kansas told me.
JANET: -looks over at Kansas who waves at her- Ms. Vedichello how would like to go home?
KATHY: That sounds lovely. I have some business to take care of there.
JANET: Come with me. -leads her to the bike and takes off-
KANSAS: -pretends to be outraged- Traitorous Salt Skin! After her!
ENDISH
This is shorter than the usual chapter because I ran out of momentum/steam. Also I'm gonna rushing through some stuff because I'm partly making stuff up on the fly (that I think are really brillient) and also whenever I get to the end of the story I want to go back to the start and revamp it AGAIN. -headdesk- I am indeed going to revamp this one last time (hopefully, though I say that every time anyway) and it's going to follow a similar route that a previous incarnation took. If there are any plot holes that you've noticed please do not hesitate to tell me so I can fix them. Also, I forgot to spellcheck this thing before throwing it out.
