It is quite odd to think that this is Canadian pop. It sounds so French (you know, berets and brightly-colored trenchcoats, cobblestones and, er croissants, like that). And Feist reminds me so much of Charlotte Gainsbourg. Because of this, I now want to go to Europe and sing "Mushaboom," which incidentally is the clip from that
Lacoste perfume ad, which I cannot believe nobody remembers. When I heard this song, I almost clapped and said, "Aha!" because I'd been looking for this song ever since I heard it on the ad. I love this Jimmy Kimmel performance of "
Mushaboom". And lookie, Rilo Kiley is in the audience.
My little sister, Mikee, loves "
One Two Three Four". Now, I'm really digging "
Inside and Out" which I think is a BeeGees remake. It's amazing to note her musical influences. Hints of Euro-pop, folk, jazz, and disco, without sounding overboard.
