Who: Marco and Open to all Hisato residents Status: Active Style: Anything; Action Where: Right outside Hisato When: Late Afternoon, Week 2, Day 2 Rating: PG.
[ And there in a tree, not too far from the gates, is a man with silver hair. He's leaning back against the trunk with a bright orange book propped open in his hand, comfortably perched atop a branch. He seems rather unassuming, despite the fact that his entire face is covered by a mask and his hair is a gigantic puff of a mess going every which way. If he notices Marco, he doesn't acknowledge him -- flipping a page calmly as the boy walks by. ]
[Marco sees the man. He stops and stares at him, thinking, what now?
Marco is nervous. He'll be stupid if he hasn't admit that. It is rare for anyone to go inside unknown territory without any back-up. Without Jake's leadership and Tobias' eyes and Rachel's firepower. Without Cassie's calm temperament and Ax's intellect. All Marco has is all the animals' DNA inside of him, ready to be used in a moment's notice.
And, of course, Marco's rather ingenious ways of playing dumb.]
[ Kakashi glances over the edge of his book and down at the boy staring at up at him. Huh. Must be that new kid who made a post yelling all sorts of weird shit on the Hitomi network that Kakashi couldn't be bothered to deal with. Or someone who just looks like him.
He's tempted to ignore him and go back to reading, but that'd be rude. ]
[And it doesn't take much on Marco's part to know that he's being brushed off. He presses on anyway. Marco gestures with his Hitomi at hand.]
This thing here, this computer, right? Some people talked to me, and some old guy named Iroh told me about how this is Kannagara. He also said about spirits taking people away to this place. What . . .
[Marco pretend-hesitates, as though this should this unnerved him somehow. In a way, it does, but it doesn't surprise him. It's just another of one the Ellimist's games, and Marco needs to know the rules of it, that's all.]
It means that you're here because the gods of this world have decided to bring you here. And now you're stuck here, like everyone else.
[ Kakashi says this very matter-of-factly. He's not sure what a "computer" is, but he assumes this kid must have seen something similar to the Hitomi in the world from which he came. ]
So nobody had ever, in any shape or form, left this place.
[See, that's what Marco's afraid of. Because if that's the case, then there's something going on between Crayak and Ellimist, in one their own fights/games/whatever it is that they called it.
And speaking of which, why hadn't they said anything to Marco? Usually they seemed to speak to the Marco and his friends about what ever multi-dimensional B.S they want them to dive into.
Their games provided them with victories. Defeated Visser Four. Reprogrammed the Howlers. Proposed a safe haven, but in reality provided a way to kill more Yeerks. Provided Tobias' morphing ability. Freed a small group of Hork-Bajir.
Well, I wouldn't say that no one's ever left, because some people have. But I'm not sure what happens when you leave, as it appears that when you're here, a version of yourself still exists in your world. Or so it seems.
[ Kakashi explains with shrug, a shoulder rising up carelessly. He doesn't seem too perturbed by the fact that another version of himself exists elsewhere, living the life he would have lived if he never was brought to Kannagara. ]
[OOC: Sorry for short tags. ;; Am in too many logs.]
You mean there's another me already at home? Watching Baywatch on the T.V. and eating canned food and whatever? And there's this other me, walking around barefoot in the freaking woods, talking to you?
Sounds something like out of a R.L. Stine book.
[Is this guy for real? If that's the case, then what's the point in all this?]
OOC: I think short tags are the way to go right now anyway. I'm amazed I'm staying up this late. XD
[Okay, that kinda sounds like what the Ellimist might do, but . . . something still isn't right. Something doesn't quite follow.
Marco sighs. He'll try to get more info, but there's nothing more he can do right now. The sun sets behind the two, tinting the sky with blood red. A wind hushes through the forest, and Marco shivers, reminded of his predicament. But first things first . . .]
Is there any spare clothes and shoes I can borrow? I promise I'll wash them and bring them back.
You can easily find clothes in any of the houses. And usually, if you pick a house to move into, you'll find clothes that fit you from your world, in the closet.
[ There's something wrong about this. Something different, about the energy in the air. Things are quiet. Too quiet, and Kakashi notices the way the shadows bend, how they stretch in all the wrong directions, away instead of towards the horizon.
This doesn't feel right. ]
You can probably find some shoes too.
[ He adds on, when he notices the kid's bare feet. ]
Yeah, and then I'll find a bed, sleep on it, and then I'll wake up and all of this be a dream.
[Marco is totally being ironic here because he will only wish it is that easy, but then -
The light.
Marco's not exactly a scientist, but he's pretty sure the sun isn't suppose to do that, if it suppose to be at least to be similar like Earth. So he says, trying to be casual,]
[ He says simply, his attention distracted from the boy to the leaves -- and the fact that the wind suddenly stopped. Just like that, it snapped off, as though it hadn't been there. Like a switch turned, the leaves stop waving, and the air goes strangely still.
There's something wrong. ]
You might want to be careful when you sleep. Your dreams aren't private in this world.
[ He continues with his explanation, his voice detached and cool, even as he shuts his book and slides it away. Now isn't a time to be reading. Not when there's something in the air. ]
[As the man starts to - and slap Marco silly to even suggest it - walk down the tree, Marco takes a step back warily. The guy just walked down a tree. As in, vertically.
This guy isn't human.
Marco doesn't know what Kakashi is - but humans can't pull that off.]
In a sense.
[Marco hesitates, but it occurs to him that if he's in a world that human walks on tree bark, the possibility of Yeerks being here seem slim. For now.
But there's something far worse over there. So Marco takes a chance.]
You can never tell who is really what they are. Where I'm from, if you blab about, I dunno, monsters, then there's a chance you might get killed. Or worse.
If you know those words, then you know that I know what those words really mean.
And if you know what I know, you will try to kill me.

Maa, I'm not sure how it all works, but the gods say they've brought us here to learn about harmony...

What, like yin and yang and stuff like that?

But he has the terrible feeling something is wrong.
It reminds Marco too much of Visser Three, the only Andalite Controller and practically the Devil reincarnate.]
This is going to sound really stupid, but I really do need to ask. It means a lot.
Does the word Visser strike a bell? The Sharing?
[He almost wants to ask him about Elfangor, but that's pushing it. And he can already tell the guy - Kakashi - is more interested in the scenery.
Or more importantly, what's in the scenery.]

Is it supposed to mean something?
[ He finally answers Marco, one hand tucked in his pocket. ]
[ooc: Should we have them attacked by some of the weaker creatures? XD]
