Who: Cho Hakkai (monocled) and Sha Gojyo (gojyo_saaama) Status: Active/Closed Style: 3rd person prose Where/When: Middle of the desert, Week 1 Day 4 Warnings: God only knows, with these two.
"It might be crocodiles in this part of the world," Hakkai remarked absently. They were in the desert, after all. They hadn't seen much in the way of flora or fauna, nothing out of the ordinary of what he would have expected, in fact, it was very much like deserts they crossed before. The trek had certainly made him appreciate Jeep tenfold.
Having established that the water did not kill Gojyo, at least not instantaneously, Hakkai wandered to the edge of it, crouching to cup some in his hands and splash it over his face. He had a dizzy thought about the water being like diamonds, so brightly shining and precious, and then gathered more to have a real, long drink.
"I've read about restaurants that serve alligators. They let them walk around with their mouths taped shut, then kill them on site to eat. The meat is supposedly like chicken. And good for colds."
He could almost imagine Goku waxing poetic on alligator spare ribs. And barbecue.
Hakkai's stomach gave an unseemly growl, and he gazed out to the water. Any place with enough water to produce trees might sustain enough ecosystem to catch fish.
