[ Peter's been spending a lot of time on the road, traveling from village to village in search of a better place to stay and better work. He's gotten familiar to these paths, the travel routes that cut through countryside to emerge in desert or thick forest, quietly awed by the beauty of the world and the way the stars seem to stretch forever and wide above, clearer than anything he'd ever seen before in Cork or Montreal or New York, where the city lights turn everything grey and foggy and distant. Too far away to touch. He was just thinking about those stars and wondering where he'll be tonight while walking down this particular road this particular morning, when the dew is still wet on grass.
