[ You're goddamned right that it's another nightmare.

But then Mukuro always is, isn't he? Seven days of monsters and he is intent on reminding this world who the biggest monster of them all is. Or who has the longest trident, to put it another way -- fucking hilarious, right? But then, everything is always hilarious when you're Mukuro. And he is laughing softly now; a dragon and a blue creature: realm of animals, indeed. And two days dead, did you say? Mukuro himself has perished too many times -- has cycled through far too many reincarnations -- for the deaths (and even the revivals) of humans to hold any significance for him, so do forgive him should he yawn at your explanation.

Which he does not. (Outwardly.) Instead, he twists, planting the trident's wooden end on the ground, solidly between the floorboards. ]

Such tragedy.

[ By all means, come a little closer.

Mukuro could of course spin the flames up the metal, set off sparks to lick clean up into columns of an inferno, blast the rafters and burn it all down. And he really should, you know. He really should make ash of the lot of you. Don't think it's you who is holding him back, Matt, or your friend; it's the woman, Jessica. His product. You're right that Mukuro would not endanger anything which has profit towards his plans, albeit temporary (because everything, when you boil it down, is).

And that woman has an unfortunate case of sensitive skin, does she not? Can't go out in the sunlight and all that.

A 1700 kW/m wildfire of combustion in the house might give the girl one hell of a nasty sunburn.

But Mukuro isn't so cruel as all that.

(Not today.) ]

I wonder.

Does your misfortune give you the right to bring others over my threshold?
