[Elfangor had remained awake throughout most of the night--primarily on account of worrying over Matt's health and emotional state, but also due to a nagging concern that Jessica still might make an attempt on his life if given the opportunity. Which meant no sleeping during her waking hours.

But it is dawn and she has gone to 'sleep,' so he too is preparing to take a nap, albeit in Andalite form so that he may remain somewhat vigilant for any trouble.

That is when he hears the front door open, and all thoughts of resting are thrown aside.

Are these the other housemates, or a potential threat? Even if he were within range of the door, he does not know who the other housemates are, so being able to see would do him little good regardless.

Loathe as he is to wake Matt from his rest, it is with the utmost urgency that he calls out to him in private thought-speak, hoping it is enough to wake him.]

< Matt! Matt, wake up! There is someone in the house! Is it normal for your housemates to return at this strange hour? >

[Matt's barely slept, himself, tossing and turning most of the night, afraid of the nightmare he can feel, a pressure and darkness that sits in his head like an incipient migraine, waiting for him to slip close enough to unconsciousness to rear up and claim him again. Afraid, too, that the awkwardness between J and Elfangor is only smoothed over in the flimsiest of ways. He feels better when he's aware, in a moment of more waking than drowsing, that she's slipped into the bed next to him.

Elfangor's silent shout snaps him awake, and he's out of the bed with his heart doing some kind of fucked-up adrenalin gymnastics before the second half registers.]

Oh. Oh, fuck. Yeah. [A deep breath.] 's probably just them.

[The day before yesterday, this world had been overrun with monstrosities. Today, there is a monster in his house. On the best of days, Mukuro is not the sort of person who will tolerate intrusion upon his territory. Particularly not when the intrusion is blue, and with a blade on its tail. Mukuro's policy towards such creatures (that is, kill them quickly, worry about the bloodstains later) has not changed in the last few days ( ... )

[ What the --

Perhaps she is feeling somewhat jittery and on edge due to recent events (and Chrome does account for that possibility), but after a week of destruction, death (including her own), zombies, and insanity, she feels instantly defensive at the sight of some blue creature within her house. Thinking at first that it is an invader, she has already whipped out her own trident, but Mukuro (as usual) has thrown himself into the attack before Chrome's reflexes catch up with her thoughts.

Or, rather, Chrome's thoughts slow down her reflexes, because a faint, niggling recollection reminds her that someone (someone she is rather certain she did not know, and someone who had been quick to speak about -- um, topics which were a bit... forward, but) once mentioned that he was usually.

Blue. ]

[ Of course, whether it's a something or a someone, Chrome does not remember inviting this individual into her house. She is quite certain she has not invited anyone lately.

And in as much as the house belongs to any of them (which it technically -- well, technically, the ownership is somewhat dubious, but), in as much as the house belongs to any of them, it is Mukuro's house, and hers. Jessica was included due to their pre-existing condition of being roommates and due to business. Matt came along because of Jessica and because of his relative harmlessness. Fair enough. But bringing strangers into their household? While she and Mukuro are away ( ... )
