Moderately transformed for the upcoming festivities, Hisato is gleaming and bustling with activity today. The festival, taking place in part of the market, spans two wide streets that intersect with a large open area in the center, forming a cross. Merchants have set up small street booths on these streets, peddling various wares and offering games. While prices are outrageous and natives certainly aren't very lucky in catching any deals here, presenting your Hitomi as identification will get you gifts and extremely fair prices. Gifts are small, though not useless, and given with varying degrees of cheer and polite manner to the newcomers residents have slowly been slowly warming to. (But some merchants might be scrooges and not too pleased with the profit loss. They'll have gifts ready anyway, but don't expect them to be happy about it.)
West of the circle there are tents, booths, or pits set up offering all manner of small delectables. Street food, fried delights, and all manner of strange cuisine can be found here.
East is a street lined with carnival-style games and activities, tests of skill or just quiet relaxation. It would be similar to what you would find at a summer festival. Kingyo-sukui (scooping goldfish), ring-throwing, etc. Closer to the circle some people might be setting up small, intense games of Mahjong or the like.
South is filled with merchants offering little souveneirs, ornaments, charms, toys, and other baubles. Most people would receive their free gifts here.
North also has merchants peddling their wears, but they are finer crafted items, showcased for the festival, and more practical. Clothing, chopsticks, pottery, shoes, etc.
In the central open space where the roads meet, performances will be held throughout the day. Spinning fire poi, kagura dances, and similar throughout the day. At night there will also be a fireworks display.
