Who: Yoite and Lelouch Status: Closed. Style: Past, Third Person Where: Mizusato When: Week 12, Day 3, midday Rating: Really can't see it going above pg-13. Warnings: angst? cute? who knows
Lelouch took his time getting to Mizusato. Not that he usually was much faster - his physical endurance was nothing to speak of - but his ribs were still bruised from the unicorn incident (as he was beginning to identify it in his mind). By this logic, the trip should have taken a little longer, definitely - but it still didn't seem to take all that much longer than a half hour.
Well. Be grateful for small favors. Lelouch carefully navigated the village proper, avoiding eye contact with the native inhabitants (do they have Hitomi?? the question never occurred before, and most of the evidence points to them not having them, but - ), until he came upon the street he was looking for.
Where was - ah, there. Yoite stood in front of the tea house, a faintly familiar-looking rabbit at his feet. Lelouch waved from down the street, picking up his stride.
Yoite's blue eyes flitted between each passerby, double-checking for Lelouch when finally he appeared around the corner. Well, not actually finally, Yoite hadn't really been waiting that long, but it was still a great relief to see him.
Smiling he waved back, a bit awkwardly given he quite simply never waved at people, but he thought he'd give it a try.
"It's good to see you again, Yoite," Lelouch said when he'd come up to the younger boy. Good to see Yoite not falling apart again. Just good to see someone who didn't look at and past him, somehow, look at him and see him full of holes. "How are you?"
Isn't that always the loaded question? And were Yoite to answer honestly each time everyone would find themselves in the pit falls of his existence. Such very very deep holes.
Thus he's learned to skirt around it. Especially in these past few days where any honest answer would probably be more than a little burdensome.
"..I am better, Lelouch-san," He nodded. This was at least outwardly true, was it not? "...and how are you?"
Lelouch, for a moment, seemed far away. How to say, "I don't know whether I should be alive or dead," or, "I don't understand anymore the only person I ever trusted with my life," or, "I don't understand how I feel anymore about that same person, whom I no longer understand" - it was impossible to completely put into words. And unnecessary.
"I'm doing well," he said, smiling (though there may have been a tinge, just a tinge, of sadness in it). "I'm living with someone I know from my world now. I'm actually in the market for a job - know of any openings?" He laughed. "Let's go, did you have anywhere in mind?"
