[The teenager is wearing his nice sweater vest ensemble today, the tie neat and tidy at his neck. He sits cross-legged in his living room, a notebook open on the table before him, the Hitomi propped up on the table so that both boy and notebook are visible.]
A newcomer, I presume?
[He offers a smile, picks up a black pen, holds it against the paper.]
Re: [Video|Private]tenpa_tantrumJune 7 2010, 01:56:48 UTC
[Well, he can at least be helpful, perhaps. Gau flips a page in his notebook, straightens his spine a little.]
I'm glad to hear that you're all right.
[The important part first, of course. But the young man is fine, so he'll move on.]
When you have a dream, sometimes, it's broadcast for everyone to see. It's a dangerous thing about this world, really, how you are laid bare for everyone to see, sometimes.
[He pauses, smiles a little.]
But that also allowed me a chance to speak to you, because I saw the dream, and it showed up on my 'Hitomi', which is what this odd technology is called.
Re: [Video|Private]solaris59June 7 2010, 02:09:19 UTC
[He screws up his nose, getting more and more confused as the kid continues on and on about dreams and Hitomis and so forth. Broadcast? Everyone? But it's the last thing he says that he answers, first.]
Re: [Video|Private]tenpa_tantrumJune 7 2010, 02:16:47 UTC
[Yeah, there's the confused look. Gau has overdone it, again. He reminds himself -- and this requires picking up a red pen and scrawling a note across the top of his page -- to take it easier on newcomers.]
We are family, yes.
[There's no need to go into the hows and whys of that, or that they are not, technically, related. There's a wistful look on Gau's face though, and hurt, because Yoite speaks to other people, but not to him, now.
As if he'd done something wrong, however much his loved one claims otherwise.]
... I'm sorry if I overwhelmed you. It looks like you're in a house, at least? So you didn't materialize in a dangerous place, likely. Be careful if you go too far... unless you're capable of protecting yourself?
Re: [Video|Private]solaris59June 7 2010, 02:30:33 UTC
Oh. He'd said everyone comes alone..
[Goku took Yoite for his word, because why would he lie? He didn't look like he was lying, anyway. He shrugs at Gau's apology.]
Haha, yeah I'll be fine. I'm just tryin' to figure out what's up. I just woke up from a really freaky dream and Yoite's telling me I'm here because of the gods, or something like that.
Re: [Video|Private]tenpa_tantrumJune 7 2010, 02:52:10 UTC
[Gau arranged the questions on the page, quickly, with his black pen again.]
Mm, Yoite-chan is right, we do all come alone. I came here after he did, not at the same time. It isn't guaranteed whether you will or won't meet anyone you know here.
[He pauses, looks back over his paper for a second, and then nods, more to himself than to the other person.]
It's not something that happens with every dream you have, as far as I understand it, but the gods have created this piece of technology with the power to let other people see your dreams. And feel them, if they're holding it when they watch.
... considering most of the people around here have rather messed-up dreams, I'd be careful about touching it when you watch them.
Re: [Video|Private]solaris59June 7 2010, 03:10:03 UTC
[The kid seems to be writing something down furiously, and Goku tilts his head to see, though it's impossible at this angle.]
Oh! So I guess I might see Sanzo after all! ...But I'm not sure I want him and everyone else trapped here either.
[Nope, that wouldn't be good. He'll have to find his way back, himself. This was going to be different.. Gau goes on to explain more about the dreams, and this time, he pays closer attention.]
Wow, that's like a youkai power or something. Did you...did you just see my dream right now?
Re: [Video|Private]tenpa_tantrumJune 7 2010, 03:29:11 UTC
[There's a slight blush to his face, because a part of Gau feels like he shouldn't watch the dreams as much as he does, shouldn't poke into other people's lives and minds so much.
Marco's calling him on his rude questions, Raikou's annoyance over his behavior, these things swim in his mind.]
Mmhmm. There's really no privacy here, but I assure you that I was only trying to learn about people, not like... anything bad.
[Oh, that sounds lame. He knows it. The blush deepens.]
This place, the gods seem to just... choose people to bring here. Mostly people who are some type of warrior, it seems, and often people who know each other. Sometimes people from vastly different worlds... or different times in the same or similar worlds. There's a girl here who is from several hundred years before my time, in a world that might be my own, or is at least similar to it.
Re: [Video|Private]solaris59June 7 2010, 10:38:32 UTC
Heh. [He shrugs.] It's okay. I guess it's just out there already anyway.
[He looks contemplative as Gau continues on to explain about the people here, and the worlds they come from. It's all very fantastical, but not really in a bad way. 'Warrior' sounds kind of interesting - he'd like to meet a few of those. The bit about coming from all worlds is equally intriguing, since he's been traveling for a year and still hasn't reached India. He wonders how big the world really is.]
Oooh. Wow, crazy. So I guess you're not from Shangri-la? You don't look like you are.
Re: [Video|Private]tenpa_tantrumJune 7 2010, 14:05:00 UTC
Shangri-la?
[Gau shakes his head, makes a note because that's a name that he hasn't heard in Kannagara, but has read in a book, once.]
My world is typically known as Earth, and my counter is Japan. And inside my world, there is a... 'hidden world' called Nabari. Those are the three places I would say that I hail from.
[He smiles a little, realizing that he's being over-informative again, and possibly about things the boy doesn't care about.]
Here, I hail from a village called Hisato. If you can find that using the maps on that device you've got, I'm always up for cooking a nice dinner for you sometime.
Re: [Video|Private]solaris59June 8 2010, 00:58:26 UTC
A hidden world? [Goku raises his eyebrows, curious. He's about to ask him what he means, but then Gau says something else that is even more interesting, at least for the moment.]
Ooooh. Dinner, really? [A bright smile spreads across his face, lighting it up.] Thanks! That's really cool of you!
A newcomer, I presume?
[He offers a smile, picks up a black pen, holds it against the paper.]
You're not injured, are you?
Reply
[He blinks, as the thing switches on unexpectedly again. He leans in closer to take a look at the other kid through the screen.]
Yeah, I just uh, got here. I think I'm okay. Man, this thing is weird. How do you know to call me?

I'm Meguro Gau, it's nice to meet you.

Meguro? Are you related to Yoite?

Mmhmm. I like to feed people, it's no problem. Makes me feel useful. And I'd love to meet more young people around here.
