[Obito's voice is shaky and quiet. Well, he'd done what he'd intended on doing.
Here, he hadn't been able to even think about responding to others. What would he say? Hello? How are you? He'd spent most of his time praying; training; trying to live as he'd once had. Iruka was right. There was no living as he had. There was only living as he would.
And thus, he started the call to Kakashi as if he were leaving a voicemail:]
Look, I'm sorry, but I need to come back now.
