[Video | Private to Izuna ] Week 1, Day 2

Feb 03, 2010 15:23

[ Madara is quite happy at the moment. He hasn't been this happy in a very long time, and he is, at the moment, downstairs in one of the main rooms of the house, arranging fruit into different baskets to make it easier for Izuna to choose from -- oranges, pears, peaches, apples. ]

Otouto, I've picked some fruit, if you'd like any.

[He's been shown how this fiddly thing works, but it's still such a curiosity. The screen has a soft glow to it from the meddling touch of a certain benign entity, but it's still so foreign to him that it takes some getting used to. Madara's shown him, patiently - patiently! And repetitively! - how it works, but he still flips video instead of voice function by mistake.

His hair clean and tossed up in a controlled mess of a ponytail. Behind him is a small shrine of sprinkled flower petals in a crystal bowl, left on the window-sill for wandering spirits. He smiles brightly and rubs his knuckles into his cheek, pleased.]

Oranges, do we have those? The spirits have a preference.

Yes, there's an entire basket of oranges here and--

[ Wait a minute. Spirits? Izuna is offering oranges to spirits? ]

You're leaving out offerings?

[ Madara sounds almost incredulous, and looks it too, staring into the video at his younger brother whom he knows cannot see him. His eyes are wide, mouth parted in mild surprise. ]

Such a face...!

[Izuna can't help but tease. His lips tilt crookedly, followed by a small tap of fingertip to his smile.]

I owe them a debt, and it's simpler than prayer. I'm not nearly pious enough.

[He pauses a beat, then grins.]

You've aged gracefully, but it wouldn't hurt to leave an orange or two yourself or the Gods might give you wrinkles!
