Arrival [ Week 34, Day 2 ]

[ video ]
[ The Hitomi flickers on. Its screen registers a sickening spiral of blue and soft gray, spinning, wheeling wildly. After a sudden flash of read, and then the slap of a palm against the screen, it's obvious that the thing-- and its owner-- is falling. Falling fast, and apparently from a great distance. And suddenly a swath of green ( Read more... )

[The face on the screen is decidedly NOT human, but seems compassionate enough despite his fierce appearance. Idly he wonders just how many humans there are on this planet.]

I asked the same questions when I found myself here. It seems this place is called Kannagara and you are lucky enough to be a part of it... it seems.

[ Already well-exposed to non-human and sentient life, the young man exhibits nothing in the way of shock at the sight but to stare for a moment, as if absorbing the sight or committing it to memory. He clears his throat, a trifle awkwardly, and his voice is rough with disuse when he does speak. ]

Lucky...? Not exactly what I'd call it...

[ Nope, not bitter at all. Dirty fingertips swipe some of the blood from his temple. But before misery at his situation can distract him further, both hands scrabble to lift the screen closer to his face. ]

Why is only one of your eyes blue?

[Garrus is glad for that, having people suddenly panic at his appearance is growing old on him and very quickly. At least now someone might be a little more educated in other sapient races and AIs.]

I say lucky because we're not dead. Although, no one here seems to know what exactly what is going on which is concerning in itself...

[He'll blink at the mention of his eye and notice his scope is still running trying to collect data on the strange atmosphere he's in. His mandibles flexing out in an amused smile he'll turn the aerogel screen off.]

Ah, it's a scope, I don't even notice it's running half of the time.

[OOC: Link as an example, haha sorry the DP are tiny and ridiculous for showing any detail http://images.wikia.com/masseffect/images/0/08/GarrusME2Ratio.png ]

[ OOC: Haha, no need! I'm a Mass Effect fanatic. And Garrus is, hands down, fucking awesome. I'm psyched that someone, somewhere, is playing him! :D And on that note, how stoked are you for ME:3? ]

[ Wander's mouth slants, a touch petulantly, but he sighs in agreement. It would, indeed, be worse to be dead... ]

Doesn't matter to me what other people do. I'm going to get to the bottom of it, and get home.

[ Said with a nigh-religious conviction and stubborn gleam in his eye. But the powering-down of the screen distracts him, and he makes a curious sound of amazement. ]

A scope-eye! Does it hurt when it... goes out? What do you see with it?

[OOC: YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW STOKED I AM! Haha sorry, I'm glad someone recognises him, I've had to give so many references to people so they know what he is.]

No, it doesn't hurt. It's just a piece of technology that goes over my eye. It's... slightly complex to explain without seeing through it yourself. It's basic functions are magnification for long distances, recording, and acting as an auxiliary screen for sorting through data. Basic military equipment really.

[He looks amused, as amused as a Turian can look considering the facial plating.]

I think you and I are on a common goal. No one here seems to know anything and that's more than odd, there must be someone on this planet that knows something.

[ OOC: *high five!* Hell yeah! I am probably going to disappear for the first week or so it's out. >> Just sayin'. And do you play m or f Shepard? :D ]

Goes... over your eye?

[ It's clear that Wander's repeating the phrase meditatively, and experimentally covers one of his own eyes with a hand. He might not have understood a half-dozen of the words used, but he's got a basic understanding of the concept. A very basic understanding. ]

Doesn't it make you dizzy?

[ He cleared his throat, tamping down on his innate curiosity, and looked suddenly more serious. Nodding, he shifted where he hung half-on the supporting branch, clambering carefully down with the Hitomi in hand. ]

Common goals make for good allies. Do you know where might be a good place to start looking?

[ooc: Same here, and I generally play F shephard. I just find her so much more badass than her male counterpart. But that's just me. =P]

[Garrus will laugh and shake his head.]

You can see through the scope, its a semi-transparent screen that allows you to look through it. I can see fine with it on, it doesn't hinder my vision.

[Now he's amused with this particular human, despite the fact that he's obviously still bleeding from crashing through the canopy.]

I haven't spoken with enough locals to even begin looking, of course I have bigger worries currently like finding food that wont poison me.

[ OOC: <.< I'm totally with you on her being more of a bamf than m!Shepard. And, for the same reason, my standard game is also f. *high fives* Rock on. ]

[ Wander squinted, lips thinning as he made an honest effort to understand. But, with only the small screen for reference... ]

So, you can see through it... but...what about your parent?

[ Too socially unaware to be embarrassed of the statement, he blinked... and frowned. The thought of food put a sudden cramp in his stomach. ]

Yeah... Can't find answers if you're starved to death. But, um.... what do you eat?

[OOC: It's true, she just come across as that much more dangerous and awesome haha. Course, Garrus is one of the few other characters that are equally as badass.]

My parent...? I'm not sure what you're asking me about.

[That was a question that he didn't know exactly how it pertained to what they were discussing. He was not about to start discussing familial matters with a rather random human.]

Hm, mostly dexto-based foods. Meats primarily and some other vegetables, I can eat some human foods but they have no nutritional value for me. It would be like a human eating grass if I were to eat say... an apple.

[ OOC: And for that reason, he's amazing. :D ]

[ Wander's face just closed down into a perplexed and puzzled frown, and he began plucking wispy leaves from his hair. ]

.... Never... mind...

[ And again, his small lexicon leaves him confounded. But the young man nodded all the same, having long ago become accustomed to the fact that there were simply many things in and about the world he did not know. But the fact that this strange being did not eat normal foods was a fact he intended to remember. ]

And once again, we've got the same problem. Finding food, and... a way out of here.

[ His thin mouth twists, and he exhales a sigh through his nostrils. His stomach growls audibly, but he doesn't flinch with discomfort or embarrassment. ]

Good luck on your search. And if I learn anything... I'll find you.
