Warnings: war, violence, death
You used to think dying was just staying asleep for a very long time.
That when little girls exploded in front of your eyes in little pieces that rained down on you and matted your hair red and wet, it just meant they were going back to sleep. Because before you are alive, you are asleep. And when you are sleeping,

What's death to you now, this stranger asks.
What's death to you.
As though he had just seen.
(And maybe he had. He must have. Kakashi is now remembering that this world exposes them in the worst possible way -- knocking down the walls of the mind at sleep, opening it up naked and vulnerable to any eyes that would see, any hands that would pry. You're in favour of preventing it.
[It sounds more like a statement, but it's really a question... somewhat. Kanda is both a little ticked off by someone lazing off on orders and relieved that there are people who cherish life regardless of war-ridden environment at the same time. It's a little weird, so he doesn't think too much on it.]
