[OOC: First dream post, so be warned. Other than that, have fun being a spectator or just someone watching this.]
He was going to die.
The tables had turned in this duel, leaving Jim defenseless as Haou stood before him, pillars of rising lava behind him as Jim stared into the dark catastrophe before him. That glimmer in Haou’s golden gaze, ruthless and cold, chilled Jim’s blood right in his veins as he raked his gaze over the plates of foreboding armor, the figure of Haou.
The layers of rock that Jim wasn’t able to peel away to save Judai.
High in the sky, channeling the molten, massive boulder in clawed palms was Evil Hero Dark Gaia, the result of Jim’s final trump monster and one of Haou’s servants, fused together by the one card that defined the word powerless in every other power before it.
The lone card that was the beginning of the end.
Super Fusion.
Jim staggered back as the ground shook violently, frozen as he stared up at the monster, at his death while Haou screamed the order for the kill.
“Now, begone! Dark Catastrophe!”
The order was given. The boulder, broken into shards of sharp burning rock that flamed with malice and murder, was hurled through the air, making Jim to step backwards in fear, in horror.
And most of all, in the utter revelation that he wasn’t able to save his friend after losing him to the death of others, to the horror of this dark world of utter hell.
Karen stomped forward, hurling herself in front of Jim, determined to save him as she let out a fierce roar. Shocked, Jim held her, peering up as the attack gained closer distance, the heat unbearable and foreboding against his skin as the ground shook with unfathomable tremors.
He sent Karen one last smile, and looked up into the face of death as the rocks crashed and flames roared around him, tearing at his skin, breaking the earth and splitting the sound barrier, all except for one last scream.
One last chance to save his friend. To save Judai from himself.
Jim screamed.
“Judai!”
[ Jim awakens, body slick in sweat and breath rushing out in rough gasps. Tremors rack through his body and he can't see, his eyes are shaking. Everything has stopped, all senses seem to dull.
He can't take this now.
But he knows now that this dream, the recollection of death, is just the beginning. ]
...Aw, damn it.
