[Reaction | Video] Late mun is laaaate~ pinktintedgamonMay 17 2011, 17:43:36 UTC
[As Raikou watches this dream, feels an odd sense of displacement, of too much hidden within the emptiness, he can’t help but wonder if Gau knew anything - anything at all - about his employee and former employee.
There are layers upon layers of suspicion and deceit and oddly enough, acceptance and resignation. Enough to tell him they are nothing like they appear, at any rate.
So after only a moment’s hesitation, Raikou flicks on the video and cants his head to the side. It’s late (or early, depending on one’s perspective) yet he’s clearly still awake, with a half eaten scone on a plate and a cooling cup of tea hear the scroll he’s got pinned open before him. A quick brush of long cerise locks from his eyes, eyes that reflect an honest concern, before he asks gently.]
Misa-san? Forgive the intrusion, but… are you alright?
[Misa stares uncomprehendingly at the message for a few seconds, eyes half-lidded with sleep. Alright? Yes, she is alright. Annoyed with herself for having a dream about him of all people. Sorely missing Light, for having the thought that he should never disappear fresh in her mind only to awaken in a world where he is gone. But otherwise she is even more unaffected by the dream awake than she was while inside of it.]
[Just a stupid dream. All the more reason to be surprised by Raikou's concern.]
Misa is okay.
[She blearily rubs her eyes before focusing on the device again.]
Just a bad dream.
[... One that is kind of really bad for other to see, now that she thinks about it. The Notebook didn't come up, so that's good, but... the way she sees the world-- if anyone here knows about Shinigami eyes, it won't be hard to figure out. If anyone here knows about Shinigami it won't be hard to figure out, thanks to Rem's appearance.]
[For a moment, he's not really sure what to say. He wants to ask her about it, to try to understand it, yet at the same time... he knows he doesn't know her well enough to be that bold.
Even so, the lonliness that the dream had reflected, the solitude, those are things he can't easily ignore anymore.
So instead, he smiles a bit and changes the subject, not wanting to leave her with that feeling of isolation if he can help it.]
Did you want to go back to sleep... or can I ask how things are at the bakery? I'm afraid I haven't been able to check in properly enough since I left.
Mm, Misa is sleepy, but Misa can talk a little bit. [Not that Raikou is someone she really wants to talk to, but, employer. Should make an effort to play nice, even if he's in some far off land at the moment.]
The bakery is fine, Misa is selling lots of yummy things. [And she has totally not been contemplating a takeover, with you away "finding yourself" or whatever.] Where is Raikou, anyway? And how long is Raikou going to be gone?
Watanabe-san's been telling me some pretty interesting things about you and Gilbert-san, actually. [A pause and a smile, a bit sleepy but real] Mostly about how you've kept the profit margin fairly high and how the customers seem to really like you.
You're doing a great job, Misa-san. I really appreciate it. As for where I'm at... I'm stll in Kusasato, but I might be heading home soon.
And smart enough to know when I was a bit wrong. I'm sorry for doubting you before, but thank you for giving everything your best effort until one of us gets back. I really do appreciate it.
And Gilbert? Are you two still working well together? No problems?
[He's not going to press about the dream, not now, but he'd be a fool not to watch her a little bit closer - after all, the woman in the dream had shown a fair bit more depth than the passing glances to the bubbly woman had.
[She is glad to have Gil in charge; ever so easy to shatter his confidence, manipulating him is hardly a challenge. Misa really doesn't mind not having the position for herself officially, when it belongs to Gil in name only.]
[But she puts on a pout as she continues, sounding grudging.]
[And here, have a bit of a lazy smile as he props his chin on his knuckles, because that last claim didn't exactly match the reports he'd gotten from his employer.
The reports that spoke of a soft-spoken, introverted man that was struggling with the position.]
In what ways would you say Gilbert-kun was doing a good job?
Well, he tries really hard! He needs a little help sometimes, but Misa thinks that Gil just isn't used to being in charge of things. Gil does work a lot though, and it's important to him to do a good job.
[All true things. All things that do not have any great bearing on his competency. Perhaps a clumsy bid for power will distract from this.]
Maybe next time we can see then. But for now... we need to support our friends here, right Misa-san? Because we really don't have that many so if Gilbert-san is trying, then I think we should encourage that.

[She gives him a wink. And hopes that the dream hasn't uncovered too much; she has come to rely on people underestimating her, to some extent.]

Something to pick apart, later.]

Gil is a good manager.

Of course Misa could do a much better job!

[He chuckles a bit then turns to the side to stifle a yawn with the back of his hand. Afterwards he smiles a bit sheepishly and shakes his head.]
I think it's finally time for me to try to get a bit of sleep, but first... still feeling alright, Misa-san?

[She bobs her head up and down in a nod.] Misa is totally fine! Good night~
