[He's very interested in this person, because of course he started with the proper subject to capture Vincent's interest. So he leans in a little, raises an eyebrow.]
Is he a friend of yours?
[Oh, and is that an eye patch? Well. That makes Vincent even more curious.]

[Not to mention he saw you in a dream, but you don't need to know that~ He'll be more likely to get something out of this if you don't.

So Vincent leans in a little more, quite intimate with the screen now, and stares.]
Yes, we do look alike. I'm Vincent Nightray, if I might please get your name as well?

[Oh, and he takes the hint and backs off a little. Still smiling though.]
Are you new to this world as well? Have you known my brother long?

Mm, no, been here for 'round eleven weeks. Think I've known for brother for... [pause for counting,] exactly five weeks today. Mistook him for someone else when he first came 'ere; he looks a lot like someone from my own world at first glance, ya see, with the hair and eyes and everythin'.

[Well, eleven weeks. That might be long enough to have some idea about what's going on, Vincent thinks. Probably long enough to know some people, and well, he looks interesting, anyway.
So, all right, he'll keep talking.]
So he's been here for that long? Five weeks? And you know him... well?
[Still trying to decide if you have to die. Nothing personal.]
And what do you do in this place, Mr. Lavi?

[He tilts his head slightly, lets out a soft hum.]
What I do? Ya mean as in work, or what?

[Vincent waves a hand sort of airily.]
Whether that's work or whatever else you occupy yourself with, other than getting to know my brother.
[The possessiveness is automatic. It's not even so much meant for Lavi as just the way he says 'my brother' when it comes to Gil. Vincent isn't even thinking about it.]

Can't say I devote all my time t'gettin' t'know your brother, yeah?
[He snickers and scratches his cheek a little idly.]
I record everything I see and hear, just like in my own world. [Shrug.] It's the kinda thing that fits just 'bout anywhere. You could say I'm a historian, but we call ourselves Bookmen.
Keeps me busy.

That sounds like a very interesting occupation.
[He pauses.]
Hopefully my skillset will come in useful here as well, but that remains to be seen. Perhaps you could share some of your knowledge with me, sometime?
