[Backdated] [Week 19, Day 6] [Accidental Video]
[The screen is steady as it blinks awake, afternoon light streaming in and bouncing off large branches as it illuminates a peaceful scene of green grass gently bowing to the wind and trees rocking and swaying in an even rhythm. Everything is just alive. At peace. And amongst it all is a small boy, hand tucked under his chin and arms tucked about himself, at rest.
Yes, many of you might remember this boy. Even know him.
And at all times and places Dre is actually asleep, squirming as children often do in a nap and batting a half-hearted hand when a bee buzzes too closely past his ear.
There is absolutely nothing about this scene that gives away the fact that this very boy had been slain in a vicious many only a few days before, and his white tunic which had been torn and stained red, now i once again pristine white, give or take a small smudge of dirt. The boy is napping on the ground after all.
A stronger wind blows and Dre squirms more dramatically, hand shooting out to defend himself from the breeze and accidentally knocking the hitomi and sending it skittering against the tree trunk. The sound and the sensation finally stir him from his sleep. Nose wrinkling and brows knitting Dre finally moves fully and drags himself up into a sitting position]
...s'not time for school y- [He stops, blinks, and as the sunlight floods into his eyes so do the memories, hitting him like a freight train and leaving him a bit dumbstruck] ....this place...
.....Woah...wait...hold up.....[He starts talking to himself, reaching around to gather up his hitomi and eyeing it in disbelief.] ....did i DIE?? [Hands fumble over himself feeling for any sort of wound or breaks before verifying that he i once again whole. Though he is certainly not without the memory of what it felt like to go cold to his core.....]
[Flopping back in the grass he groans] Man.....I'm gonna be honest....that sucks. Big time.
