Nagato. Izuna and I have been fighting these monsters that are attacking our village. There does not seem to be an end to these.
[ No sooner does he say this, is his attention distracted by something coming from above. Madara grits his teeth, and the connection goes out. ]

[ Pain is thinking the answer might be a negative, to judge from how the connection faltered. ]
We need to gather in one area, if possible. As many of our allies as we can.
[ There is a time and a place for doing things on one's own, but this is not it. This is a pivotal moment for allies. ]

I am of the opinion that the gods have unleashed this upon us to terrorize us. We must find a secure location, which will make it difficult for these monsters to reach us. Perhaps Tsuchisato may be a good place for us to convene in.
[ He does not say "retreat," for Madara dislikes that word. ]

Tsuchisato will offer us a superior defensive position. We are too few to be facing this many.

Certainly it is a given that some people would not be welcome among them, but it is best that they consult one another about the specifics. ]
I cannot say why Yukari is experiencing these delusions, but I think it must be that the gods are toying with her mind as they are toying with this world and with our own livelihoods. Perhaps she did eat or drink something, though . . .
[ Actually, he should ask about that. ]

[ When Pain responds, if Madara is listening carefully, he may sound a little more tired than usual, and not as composed. Just a hair's breadth, though. ]
Mukuro? I have not spoken with him recently, but I agree that that would be a good choice. And Sasuke, of course. Lelouch, yes. Also a fine option.
[ There may be people he is forgetting, but if they are worthwhile, they will find their way to him again. ]

I believe he accidentally drank some of the blood water. It must be poisoned.
[ Madara was indeed listening, and did notice that there's a slight edge to Pain's words. But he believes this to be because of the strange and extremely exacerbating circumstances they are under, so he does not comment upon it either way. ]
