[Ginko just so happened to be sitting down and looking at the Hitomi when the dream came up--an interesting, fortunate coincidence. At first he stares, surprised--does he dream about me a lot?--but then the dream starts getting interesting, and his eye narrows, taking the information in. It can't count as eavesdropping, right? Since his husband apparently wants him to know this.
Not that it would matter; the dream has him in it, and it's quickly becoming interesting. Ginko has less standards than some when it comes to matters of privacy.
He winces a little at the image of the boy in the snow--that hits a little close to home, the feeling of being close to death, and then the rescue. The kill makes him blink. He did that... coldly, almost... someone he knew? That doesn't tell Ginko why...
...he died? He killed... Marco... Ginko has to look away from the Hitomi for a moment, trying to figure out how he feels about that, how he should feel. The idea of Gau killing someone... of his cute little husband taking up a blade in cold blood

[Well.
That was... something, alright.
Gau had said he was going to the shrine, right? Had he fallen asleep there?
Only one way to find out.
Ginko gets to his feet, shouldering the box that is always with him, and moves off in the direction Gau had gone, wondering how long it would take him to get there.
Once he reaches a more populated area, a local is willing enough to point him in the direction of the shrine. It doesn't take him long to walk from there, and he soon reaches it.
Carefully taking off his shoes and leaving his box at the door, he walks a little deeper into the shrine, looking around for...
Ah, there he is, slumped over. It looks like he just passed out in the middle of his worship... strange. Ginko goes over to him, kneels down--almost like he's praying himself. He reaches out, gently touches his husband's shoulder, shakes it a little.]
[Ah, he must be the worst worshiper ever, the way he keeps falling asleep like this! He really needs to stop trying to spend long hours in prayer and long hours in training and long hours at the bakery...
Something needs to give a little.
These are Gau's first thoughts as he wakes, and then his second is that the hand touching him and the voice dragging him out of sleep doesn't belong to the same person as last time.
He blinks, turns to look, and blushes brightly, gives a little nod.]
Ah... I'm all right... I just seem to have worn myself out again...
[He shifts down to sit on his butt, leans against Ginko, just sort of automatically using his husband as a leaning post until he feels up to standing.]
[So... he was just... asleep? Relieved, Ginko can't help but smile. He'd been expecting something worse, seeing his husband slumped over on the floor like that.
But he seems fine now, just tired. Ginko supports him as Gau leans against him, glad to help him in this small way.]
Maybe a little.
[He brushes Gau's forehead with one hand, both as a gesture of endearment and checking for a fever.]
Do you often fall asleep while you're worshiping?
[And then his smile quirks up a little more, and his next question is definitely a teasing one.]

[Comfort, closeness. Matt knows those now, smiles as he turns in the bed, aware of J there within arm's reach. His sleep schedule's been shot all to hell since he died. He doesn't mind; his most natural hours to keep make him practically nocturnal.
The dream shifts, and Matt knows what it is to be cold and alone, too, feels the pain he didn't experience himself, not in real life. Too much hurt, too much death to have seen and caused so young, but there's a way past it. It takes a long time, and it all still hurts while you're healing, but those little, everyday moments, they lay a balm over the places that ache, and one day, you don't feel broken anymore.
Matt's not sure he's spoken to the boy who was dreaming all this (the bakery guy, right?), but there's one thing he needs to know, one death he shouldn't carry with him.]
It's not your fault. About Marco. I mean, if that happened, and went down that way. You didn't know.

[It surprises Gau quite a bit, to get a response from a stranger. He knows that he's seen this person around... Matt's been here quite a while. He even knows the name, because it's easy to pick up those things over the network, and he does try to keep up with people.
But somehow they haven't spoken, and he's amazed that someone who didn't know him would bother...
He offers a soft smile, a slight bow.]
Thank you for that.
[He blushes, just a little, because he's not completely sure, but...]
You're Matt-san, right? I appreciate you saying such a thing. I don't - I mean I realize I shouldn't - but... Marco has never quite stop feeling like it's my fault, I think. And it was a bad mistake to make twice.

Mmhmm, I'm Gau! I didn't think that many people... well, no, I suppose I have been pretty visible lately, with starting a business and such, haven't I?
[Gau pauses, smiles a little.]
Are you a friend of Marco's? I mean, I suppose that he must have forgiven me, but sometimes it seems like we're still a little...
[Okay, things just aren't as easy with Marco as with Ginko. But it must be all right.]
And yeah... it was terrifying... and I was already injured then, so I really didn't have any way of knowing. But after seeing his polar bear morph, I think he feels I should have assumed any random animal was him...

[Wait, twice?]
Well, he forgave you enough to marry you, right?
[Oops, that might have been a case of Matt's mouth being ahead of his brain.]
I mean, um. Those things're scary as hell even if you know what they are.
