[Lee's eyes were full of shimmering, un-shed tears, but now they're streaming down his cheeks and he is just SO HAPPY. Gai-sensei is SAFE.
But this body and voice do not do Gai-sensei's sheer...Gai-ness justice. Lee does not like this. He wants Gai-sensei back to being Gai-sensei and he'll do whatever it takes!
He wipes his cheeks and eyes with his sleeve.]
Are you safe? There is no danger? Can I come see you?
[The smile isn't as beaming as it should be, the thumb is narrow, and the pose is on the weaker side, but Gai goes into Nice Gai Pose anyway.]
I am safe! I believe there is no danger, and I plan on heading that way soon! You will see me shortly, Lee. I will be there and we will find a way for me to return to my body. All will be well.
[He takes a moment to try to make his teeth sparkle. It doesn't quite work, but he's doing the best he can.]
[Although the promise and thumbs up help a little (a lot, really, because Lee would have otherwise been in a lot worse shape), he gets hopelessly stuck on a simple phrase: "find a way." The look he gives Gai is a mood very much like if a small raincloud has taken up residence over his head and is crackling ominously with thunder.]
You mean you do not know of a way to return to your body?
[(And now the raincloud would be raining if it were real. And Lee would be standing here without an umbrella or duck-yellow raincoat and galoshes, dripping wet and looking like a soaked kitten.) Such devastation! Gai-sensei should have the answers to everything ever! But if Gai-sensei doesn't know, then...!]
[His voice is as booming as he can make it. That doesn't say a whole lot, but there's definitely effort behind it. Gai wants to do whatever he can to encourage his student; he can practically see the raincloud and soakedness from here.]
It is not permanent! I will return to my youthful and powerful body soon! Against the might of you, Kakashi, and myself, something like this cannot stand! We will prevail! I know it!
[He needs to get over there soon. Lee needs a hug. Badly.]
Lee! Do not worry! I am all right! I am just in a different body, but we will figure this out!
[It's hard to make this voice sound strong and confident enough to measure up to Gai's normal measurement of it, but he's trying.]
I am certain you did all you could. I have faith in you!

What if this is PERMANENT?!

Fear not, Lee!
