Not that Mukuro is terribly disturbed by things being broken, because, well. Ken, after all. And the glasses are replaceable one way or another. It is just that in the entire time Mukuro has known Chikusa (a man who possesses an unusual amount of manual dexterity), he does not seem to recall Chikusa breaking anything that Mukuro did not expressly order him to break (i.e. Gokudera).
Sure, Ken broke things all the time. With regularity that some might call alarming, but Mukuro had always tolerated it, in his way. They all tolerated Ken. Possibly the lack of Ken, as of late, has led to a sort of uneasy quiet. Mukuro himself has taken to surreptitiously tracking dirt on the floors and knocking things over, when he is certain that Chikusa isn't looking - not that he has any particular predilection for filth, but the cleanliness, left unbalanced, is stifling.
Not that he thinks Chikusa would be likely to agree.
But.
Could it be, that possibly. Possibly. This - Chikusa, in Ken's absence, suddenly breaking something, which Mukuro is pretty sure Chikusa just doesn't do - is not merely a bizarre coincidence, but in fact. Could it be that Chikusa is having an... emotional reaction.
Is this a cry for help, Chikusa.]
Rather remarkable, that they've managed to survive combat for this long.
Really, to be quite honest - without Ken, the source of all of Chikusa's domestic and petty annoyances and someone to get snappish with for no particular reason- well. Chikusa is perhaps feeling a little more impatient with everyone else, lately. (Because, really, Ken's presence makes everyone else comparatively more bearable.)
That is to say. He could do without the insinuations. All he wants out of life right now is a pair of glasses that aren't cheap plastic, sir.]
[Well, you don't have to get testy. Mukuro is just pointing out a simple fact. Chikusa's annoyance is something of a puzzle to Mukuro. Generally speaking, of course, it is Mukuro's policy to react to the annoyance of others with amusement. In Chikusa's case, this reaction feels - inappropriate, let us say, particularly when that annoyance is directed at entities other than Ken and/or people whom Mukuro feels are rightly deserving. As in, people who are not Mukuro himself.
Still, far be it from Mukuro to acknowledge that there is anything even approaching wrong here.]
[Yes, well. At least Mukuro's insatiable desire to be a bit of a huge tool has been curbed for dealings with Chikusa. He does appreciate your favoritism, you know. Even if it is partially because Chikusa exhibiting any emotional capacity beyond "pile of dirt" is apparently concerning enough to clamor for him to calm down.
In any case. There is a pause here. What...is this suggestion? An alternative? How do those work?]
Nonsense. You ought to be more open to change, you know.
[Open to change much in the way that, say, Mukuro is open to change. Except for changes that involve Chikusa having... emotions. But! Let's not concern ourselves with unpleasant thoughts, hm?]
[There, see? He's filled his change quota. Besides, what nervous tic will he be forced to develop if he loses the opportunity to play with his glasses all the time?
With how well you're adjusting, I thought you'd hardly noticed.
[Because nothing is wrong. Furthermore, can't you just... poke at the bridge of your nose or something?
Although for some reason, that mental imagine (Chikusa sans glasses, that is) makes Mukuro feel uncomfortable. Mukuro, after some consideration, decides that this feeling is merely a result of Chikusa's eyebrows.]

They would have broken eventually.

It would probably be more cleaning.]

[Not with Chikusa, anyway. Really. Really.
And no, this alternative is unacceptable. He would feel exposed. It would be like taking away his hat and giving him a haircut.
There is nothing wrong with his eyebrows, either.]
