[There is not much background noise; the snow is making the world quiet, muting the sounds of outside life. So all you can hear, at first, is a soft rustle here or there, a clatter of earthenware on wood, and the very faint swishing of a brush on paper. Then, Rin's voice, half-muttered, but somewhat discernible still.]
Hitotsume-kozō - mention their one eye, that scares them away.
Yōma - go for the head.
... that's the key to killing a lot of things, isn't it.
Hmm...
[A bit of a gasp.] Oh! Didn't notice it was recording. Though I suppose it's just as well. Because I think I might have something to say, just -- hah -- not sure yet what. Or rather, how to put it. Hmmm.
[There's a pause, her hum getting quieter and tapering off, followed by some more clatter with a quiet slurping noise.]
Ah! Yes. That.
See, I've been thinking. I've been in Kannagara for quite a while now, and by now I'm not really harboring any illusions about getting home soon anymore. I kno-- I'm confident that I will eventually get home, but I have no idea when that will be. So I think I should get situated here.
Yes, that different kind of mindset is kind of important, you know. Sometimes you have to do that first to allow yourself to think in new categories.
So here is this. I want to familiarize myself with the world of Kannagara, and to make my life better, as well as the lives of other people who come here from the outside world, if possible. I'm currently writing a list about different methods with which to get rid of the different creatures you encounter here, for example. So when another week like what we went through not so long ago happens -- and I have a feeling it will; this was already the second time! -- we at least have an idea of how to defend ourselves.
Will you help me, maybe? I know some of these creatues come from some of your homeworlds, so your input would be really appreciated!
[Another small pause.]
