[Week 16, day 3] [video]

Dec 20, 2010 14:55

[At first the video is of Iskierka in front of a pile of what appears to be personal property of some sort. It's nothing too valuable: mostly blankets and books, as if someone had been traveling and this was their bag. Also nearby is a knife and a sword, both of which seem to have become bent through misuse ( Read more... )

[Well, that is certainly new. Rin has watched the footage and was starting to prepare for a good scolding regarding the loot, but then -- then that happens, and all admonishment is forgotten.

Right now, she is rather gaping at the screen, though it is not visible, as she does make sure she has the voice setting turned on.]

Peculiar? No kidding.

[Oh hey, that's a familiar voice. Iskierka wonders why Rin has been using voice only for the last couple days, but she decides that her own predicament is more important right now. Everything is all weird and somehow it's colder too. She's not so sure she likes this change.]

Rin, the Gods are toying with me again.

[She sounds more annoyed than freaked out, mostly because she figures this 'condition' is reversible somehow.]

[Oh, and that high-pitched, childish voice! Somehow, it both does and doesn't fit with what Rin associates with Iskierka. Usually, Iskierka the dragon has a deeper voice, and certainly a louder one. Must come with having a ribcage that is an estimated fifty times the size of a human's.

Certainly, she doesn't sound like a child -- not acoustically. Now, her wording and intonation coupled with her behavior? That makes this human shape a lot more likely.]

I can see that. I don't even know if I'm -- okay, I am surprised.

Do you require help?

No, I will just fly back to-

[But she stops. She's a human, at least for the time being. That means she can't 'just fly back' anywhere. She'll have to walk, just like all of the other humans do.

But therein lies the problem: Iskierka doesn't know the walking trails. She can fly everywhere, so she only knows her way around by markers she can see from the air. And looking around now, with everything suddenly much bigger than it had been before, she realizes that she wouldn't get a mile away from here, let alone travel far enough to be home.

Plus there's the whole walking thing. Her center of gravity is very different now, and it's hard enough to stay standing up. Walking is going to take some practice.

Iskierka won't ask for help outright, though. She's too proud for that.]

If you tell me the direction to walk in, I can make my way back.

[Fortunately or unfortunately for her, Rin has the same train of thought.]

No offense, but... can you even walk properly? It must feel very different.

And it's going to be difficult in this weather, and quite possibly dangerous.

[At that comment, she does get huffy. Because she doesn't like the insinuation that she can't do something, and she's going to start walking around to prove that she can walk just fine, thank you very much.]

I can walk! I can manage it on four legs, two should be even easier-

[Except it's not easier, and she ends up stumbling over a blanket and falling flat on her face. Which hurts more than falling normally does, surprisingly.]

[That leaves Rin torn between wanting to giggle and wanting to sigh. The latter urge is stronger, though, and so sigh is what she does.]

Where are you currently? I'll come get you.

[Grumpy Iskierka is grumpy, but she manages to get out her location without sounding too upset.]

The southern part of the forest around Himorogi, on the trail that leads out.

Okay. I'll be there in half an hour... if the storm lets me.

[Already rummaging about, putting on some protective clothes, and packing some spares to put on Iskierka.]

[Iskierka is fine to just hang around where she is. She thought to turn off the Hitomi, thankfully, and now she's attempting to get a better handle on walking with two legs.

She might also be looting a bit more too, because loot is good to have.]
