[If there is one thing he finds kind of ... alluring about these divine planes, it's the fact that there are so many, many different kinds of people with many different kinds of mental-tick-tock to meet.

Like this one, for example.

Oddly enough, the first thing that pops in to Yamamoto's head is Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid. From creature to human and the joy that is felt in being human. Literally.

Odd. This one.

Yamamoto had no intention of answering it and would have left it alone, but ah, when this person speaks like this ... ]

Rewards come to those who rise early, though~

[Really, Yamamoto is glad to actually experience something pleasant. Like first hugs.]

[Those words are met by something between grumpiness and dismissal. She doesn't recognize his voice, but she is tired and isn't about to look back to the Hitomi to see just who it is. She can always go back and check later.

She does respond, though. She's not quite back to sleep yet, and she's never one to not talk.]

What rewards would come before the sun does?

[A short chuckle.]

And the early bird is also the first to fall into the hunter's trap.

[Rin swears she has a justification this time. The last time a dream of Iskierka's was broadcast, it was a nightmare, and Iskierka was upset by it. It was probably lucky that Rin was around. Isierka had set fire to some trees as it was, and most generally you really don't want an angry dragon on a rampage.

This is what Rin tells herself as she's sucked into this dream. She's confused for a split second at it being about a human girl, but then she comprehends as she experiences the curious feeling of being a human for the first time. Between that and the hug, it's a very heartwarming dream. It makes Rin smile.]

Good morning, Iskierka. How are you today?

[It's lucky that Rin waited until a bit later to message Iskierka, as she is a lot less crabby now. She's been awake for a while and has just finished her breakfast, so she has lost the sleepiness to her voice when she speaks.]

Good morning, Rin. It has been a good day so far, I have no complaints. How about yourself? Has this day been good to you so far?

[She actually isn't too bothered by this dream, though. The curiosity of being a human isn't a shameful thought to her, so she isn't particularly bothered that others have seen it.]

It's been a good day so far, thank you.

[As good as any day in The Life Of Rin is ever going to get. Which can be pretty damn good, because after everything, she hasn't unlearned how to enjoy life, still -- but on the other hand, there's always been a sort of shadow accompanying her, ever since three years ago. (And has it been three years already? It was winter when she came to Kannagara, and now it is winter again. That should make a year, even if she thinks that if she concentrates, she might still be able to count the weeks.)

It's become so normal that it is odd to consciously think about it. She doesn't often, and she finds that this is not really a bad thing. It's not that it doesn't matter, but it's not something that's any use dwelling and spending energy on.]

Things sure have quieted down. It's... refreshing.

Yes, a short break is just what everyone needs.

[The emphasis there was on 'short,' though. Iskierka got bored easily, and within a few days she would be complaining about a lack of things to do. Though for now she did have something to keep her occupied, and she actually remembered it at the mention of peace and quiet.]

Oh yes, I was thinking, are there troubles with bandits in this world?

[Oh, hey, a nice dream, and it's funny, Matt thinks, that he's felt like this before, only in reverse, human turned dragon. He still feels the newness of soft skin instead of scales, a simple pleasure in the funny expressions human faces can make, how strange and good a hug is, when you don't know what it is until this moment.

He's not too surprised Iskierka's young as a human. He kind of felt it, when he borrowed her form, eagerness and a bit of recklessness.

Yeah, and that worked real well for me.

He lights his pipe and pushes the bitterness away. It's getting easier to do--slowly, but it's happening.]

Hey, Iskierka. You make a cute human.

'Cute'?

[Iskierka isn't the best judge of what is cute and not-cute to a human, for obvious reasons. She has never been called cute before, but she assumed that all human women were considered 'cute' to some degree.]

Is that not what all girls are? Or does it have something to do with my small size?

[That is another mystery to her as well. Dragons don't exactly have teenage years, and even though she would technically be one she still considers herself an adult.]

Heh, not all girls are cute.

[He has to think for a second, because how do you explain 'cute' to someone with no frame of reference?]

Like, are all dragons graceful? No wait, bad example. They probably are, huh? [Except for when they're actually geeky humans.]

It's hard to explain. Big eyes and a pudgy face help. No offense. [He throws that in, just in case girls who are dragons also mind the slightest hint of being called anything in the vicinity of fat.]

Well of course dragons are graceful, we are very refined creatures.

[Which is funny, coming from her, as she is one of the least-graceful dragons around. But she would never admit to that, because of pride and all.]

But I was unaware that being overweight helped one appear 'cute.' Granby always made sure that I did not eat so much that I would keep from becoming fat and lazy. Is it valuable, for human women to do such a thing?
