[He hates to see children suffering.

Hates to see anyone suffering, the healer in him makes it hard, the human still alive somewhere inside the demon makes him want to help, even when it's impossible.

For all he knows, the last thing the girl wants is some stranger bothering her.

He starts a video anyway, sitting up in bed himself, dressed in comfortable plain white pajamas and tugging his dragon onto his lap, as if to make sure he's in the picture.

He can't help it, it's habit. Jeep is always so good with kids, though perhaps it helps less at the moment considering said dragon is sleeping.]

Are you all right, Sara?

[She was startled for a moment, and then flushed slightly, remembering what Matt had said about dreams being visible to others.]

Yes, I'm all right. I'm sorry I bothered you.

[Sara was not all right, though. She missed her father quite terribly, but she was too proud to admit it.]

[Hakkai shook his head, just a little, smiled even more softly at the girl.

So brave. Like so many he'd seen.]

It's not like there's anything you can do to stop the thing from sending out your dreams. There's no need to apologize. Are you somewhere safe?

That's good then.

[He offers a little nod, tilts his head just a little.]

When I was a little boy, and I lived in an orphanage, I'd sing to myself when I was all alone. You ever tried that?

[slight smile] I'm not very good at singing, sir.

But I do tell myself stories. It helps, most of the time--even with very great pains.

[Awwwwww. He can't seem to stop smiling at her, thought it hurts his heart too. He remembers what this felt like.]

Stories are a great way to do that. I'm glad that you've found ways to deal with it, but...

[He can't offer help. Can he? He hasn't been here long either.]

If you're ever in need of help, just let me know, okay?

Thank you, sir--and you as well, if you ever need help.
