[Week 8, Day 7 / Midday] Salutatio Angelica, Amen

Well. That covered Cross, Tyki, and Heine. Not friends or respected. (Don't you dare question that.) Lenalee was... uh... different. stfu
He'd been out on the job, awkwardly trying to talk with some woman vendor in Kusasato, when Timcanpy had first lazily swooped around his head. No, quit that, Tim. A somewhat-but-not-really grumpy swipe at the creature; sheepish, apologetic smile to the lady and suddenly a million questions to answer about his "metal-bird." Thanks, Tim.
Later, after sulking, the golem tried again. Allen had just boggled with a more annoyed look at the creature and ducked how it dove at his head. Really, he could quit that anytime now.
Still later, Timcanpy did what any reasonable golem would do. As young-master moved to rejoin the caravan and leave town, Timcanpy rounded on him and chomped down on a finger.
Though he yelped a bled a bit at the Hitomi-golem's blunt way of getting the message across, Allen stared at the unfolding dream that was suddenly projected.
Oh, Yoite...
Shaky, he was a bit shaky when the dream stopped.
"Tim," he said a bit weakly, coaxed the golem into his now-open palms with a regretful look, but the sentiment wasn't really directed at the creature and the name was wrong.
Oh, Yoite.
Allen was both a bit sorry that he saw the dream and... sort of more sorry that he was in it. But more in a confused way. Very confused. It tugs at the memory that... Yoite had asked him if he was there to take his soul... was that what he had meant?
It was terrifyingly familiar despite the differences, too, that feeling of being left alone, leaving everyone behind or being left behind, trying to fix, fix, fix everything anyway, even if Allen was tried pretty damn successfully at pushing those sniggering doubts aside most of the time. Confusing, really, for boys seperated for so much of their formative years from true family or caring.
And really, he didn't want to talk to Yoite about this and felt he shouldn't, but even so there was a compulsory urge to.

Ah, hi, Yoite.
[A beat, the smile slips a bit, and his face slackens in sympathy; not-understanding yet empathy.]
You and Gau... are you two doing alright?
[Because Gau seemed less than alright after Allen spoke with him and... it worries the young man, especially after the dream. And he's side-stepping the elephant in the room at the moment because that's kind of what he does.
And yeah, Cross was more than right. On many, many accounts.]

But as he listens he takes note of the fact the Allen makes no mention of what took place in the dream. What Yoite's mind had turned him into in the dream. He is being kind again.
Unless...perhaps he hadn't seen the whole dream...
...no. If he hadn't seen it he wouldn't be calling.
Tentatively he picks up the device and pulls it into the bundle of blankets with him, so the majority of the screen is black save for a little light on his cheeks and chin.]
Allen-san....
[Pause]
.....
[He drops his head, not going to let Allen play this game with him]
...I know you saw....
[A beat then he shakes his head, suddenly regretting being so forward. Its not like he really WANTS to discuss this with Allen either. How is he supposed to attempt to explain himself?]
...we...are alright.

For that, Allen grins a bit sheepishly briefly.]
Ah, I did... [A pause, glancing aside for a moment with a rather contrite expression and scratching at his cheek a bit because he is sorry for the intrusion.] Sorry about that...
[He does nod at the... sort-of reassurance, although after seeing Gau earlier he's still rather worried.]
That's good to hear... I spoke with Gau earlier and... [Pause, something between a sad smile and a frown.] Things were obviously a bit hard.
[And then there's you, Yoite, which he's more than a bit concerned about in the long run and wanting to find a cure or something for, but... that's not something to just point out. Not that he isn't going to stubbornly do everything he can.
But it is honestly is better to see Yoite even like this than... that last time in the housing complex.]

[Yoite doesn't immediately say more about his dream given that all he really even knows about it is that Allen was in it... but not why. And he can't exactly offer an apology for what his mind made of the boy. His mind seemed intent on changing the people in his life, like it had done to Raikou and Gau.
So for the time being he'll let it fester in his brain and grow until it can make something of itself or until he can pick and choose what to make of it as he had done with Allen's dream.]
forget what you saw
[He says this not as a threat, but almost as if to say 'I need more time.' It makes him so painfully nervous when he once again doesn't understand himself and he just needs his mind not to be picked at for the moment.
However, Yoite is surprised to find that when the subject changes to Gau, it is almost more painful. He hangs his head a little]
..Gau-san is hurting...

But the other matter...]
Ah, I was worried about that.
[And he looks a bit guilty about that as well. He can't even begin to imagine what the two are going through... perhaps a bit, better than most, but not the same.
A tentative pause.]
Is there anything I could do...?
[After all, if anyone would know, Allen figures it would be Yoite. Well, better than him at least. There is no making it right, but whatever they could do.
And perhaps do something for Yoite in the process. After everything that's happened, he's just feels the need to do so.]

Gau seemed to like his new size...that was something... but it doesn't really help. Not enough at least. There was only so much something like that could do. Only so little happiness carrying around a now 'fun-sized' kira user could beget.
So what then?]
....Gau-san likes people....
[Yes. Company. Gau likes having company. It makes Yoite's heart ache a little that that was one of the many things he had never been trained to deal with.
If he had...maybe he could make Gau happy.]

[Allen can't help but smile at that, recalling when he first met Gau and being dragged accompanying him to Hisato and meeting Steve..]
He certainly does.
[A pause as he considers that. He had gotten through hard times by thinking of everyone returning home before, of celebrating when it was finally all over... And it was always worth it, that brief respite of laughing with friends, with family.
Gau also seemed to like hosting for people...
... Not that Allen really knows how to go about doing that, but how hard could it be?]
Perhaps a get-together for him...? Of people he knows? [A pause, somewhat sheepish.] He does usually seem to do all the hosting himself.
[And surely Gau knows a lot of people. He seems, well, Gau.]

[A faint smile at a memory.]
I know it always helped me to think about things like that in hard times. It's nice to have something to go home to.
[But, ah, as to how... Allen rubs at his hair with a bit of an awkward grin. He'd been to plenty at the Order, but...
He offers an encouraging smile anyway.]
It can't be... that hard, right?
[A pause, recalling people he'd seen prepare... oh, maybe Lenalee? She was always helping with things like that it seemed.. or at least she had more proximity to Jerry and Komui.]
