I was fine with some of the songs (mostly the opening montage, but I digress :y) but besides Hendrix, there were two in particular that irked me more than anything.

1.) Sound of Silence. I enjoy this song as much as the next person. I don't like it ruining a funeral scene by transforming it into a cliche ball of shit right after they successfully used a song from the same era only moments earlier. Pick one, motherfuckers.

2.Mozart's Requiem. Perhaps one of the most recognizable parts of the damn thing. Anyone semi familiar with classical music or the movie Amadeus would instantly know what it is, and why it is an over the top musical choice. Go die in a cage, music men. Not to say that this piece should never be used, but it didn't sit well with me. Many musical choices just made me want to rip the seat in front of me to shreds. I feel as though they should have "known better". The songs could have been fine for another movie, but really ruined some of the scenes for me instead of enhancing them. It's not about picking some slightly obscure song from the 60s, 70s, etc. ala Tarantino, I don't care if it's a recognizable song or not. If the pieces were particularly right for scenes you'd be able to override your associations with the songs and make new ones due to the placement in the movie. Or perhaps think, "My god, this song really made the emotions flow right out of this scene." Instead I cringed.

Not that I don't have other comments, but reading your post reminded myself of my steaming hatred for those two specific songs. Anddddd many other songs on the soundtrack. ;;

ugh I KNOW RIGHT every so often something comes up and I'm reminded of a terribly inappropriate song that ended up being used in the movie. It felt like Snyder panicked and ended up just using the first songs that came to mind :( UGH THIS MOVIE
