Deep Breath...

So today I climbed a moutain with my first years.  It was their class trip, and I got to tag along, as I'm considered a first year teacher now.  The hike up Mt. Azumane took a bit over two hours, and the hike back down about the same.  At one point I ended up leading a string of squeely girls down through the slick muddy trail, listening to them shriek and "kowaiiiii!!!"  for little reason.  Over all though, it was a good, and needed experience.  I got to interact with the kids, which is always a plus, and just the sheer physical work it took to climb up and back down helped me flush out a lot of negative emotions that had been building up in my head.  Between that and cleaning my room down to bare bones yesterday evening, I'm finally feeling like I've moved past whatever slump had been in my way these past couple days.

I do still have a cold however, something that I think got passed around at my D&D session last saturday.  Actually, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, though, as it means I might be able to take tomorrow and friday off as sick days.  We're give twenty of them to use in a year and I've gone through exactly one.  And there's only two more months till my contract resets.  So I may be getting sick a bit more often than normal in June and July.

There's a whole bunch more that I could write about, my trip to Fiji, rice planting, issues with certain people, but right now I'm still riding the endorphin high and feeling good, so I'll end things on that note.

mata-ne!
