I have that snowglobe; it's the ONE I said I was going to get for AWNW because I'm picky with snowglobes. I love it even more now.
I figured they did that with the faces because Jasmine's isn't completely different from the Disney Store mold now, but still - Mulan's needed to be changed :|
idk there's a TON of Nightmare Merchandise despite all the hurdles it gets. I guess I'm not surprised Genie has to go through 1000000 approvals, especially if Robin is still attached to it. Tarzan, though, I don't get that one at all. I have a friend who would be upset to hear that xD

I love that he hand draws. I know computer drawing is hard, but damnit, it never thrills me as much as hand drawing. (Or watching someone draw. He said he wasn't allowed to draw for us. :( )
That whole set was gorg and sold out super fast according to the people at the store (back when it was open). It's my fav snowglobe as well. I'm sorry I didn't get the Hercules one, too. I'm not surprised. If he draws something and someone makes it into an idea or mass produces it, Disney can't get the profits from it. That, or he's under that "all your ideas belong to us" clause and anything he draws on the clock belongs to them. It's just easier for him not to draw anything.
The one that was part vase? That one was gorgeous. I think I know what Jasmine/Rajah snowglobe you're talking about. I have a smaller one because it doesn't play any music, but I know the bigger one looks very similiar.

It's probably the clause because I know I had to sign it. Any ideas I came up with while working for them would belong to them. If someone asked him to draw Jasmine as a super hero, the idea would belong to Disney and they probably could sue the person who got the drawing because it's their idea since he belongs to them contractual wise. I admit, it is odd for Jas to be hugging Rajah and AWNW be playing. Why not just use the instrumentals from that scene? They are beautiful.

IDK girl. I guess his lawyer/agent got him a real good deal on his contract. Although, I'm curious how it applies in different countries, Tokyo Disney apparently has TONS of Genie shit.
That's all they ever use is that song. I don't get it. I know licensing is an issue for other songs to be used in merchandise on other movies, but they OWN all these damn songs. y u no use pretty instrumentals??

I guess that might be different, though, because Genie's VA would be different and I doubt he has to over-see it in other countries, too, but that's really stupid he has to in the first place. I can't imagine that happening with every VA for all the characters Disney owns.
