heh, i'm sure this is the post you've all been waiting for! actually, prolly not, but it makes me feel good to think so. so, without further ado...
i awake too early on the friday morning, after being up too late the night before. grabbed a quick breakfast, packed a few last minute things (like my toothbrush), and headed off to pearson, incredibly jittery, and more excited than i'd been in a long long time...
i found blair without much of a problem at the gate, and went with him so he could have a smoke. he told me a lot of things that i should do in nl, though it was a while ago now, and i don't really remember everything he told me.
i spent most of the flight sleeping, though i did catch some of american history x via blair's laptop. coming into st. johns was breathtaking... well, what i could see of it from the aisle seat. we got to the airport just fine, found my luggage, matt found us, and i was on my way.
we went to a party that night, after supper, it was a blast. i met a huge amount of people.. though unfortunately i can't remember most of their names right now. heh, i was pretty wrecked for most of the night, spent the end of the night watching the wallpaper... real good times that night! haha, what a welcome!
we slept pretty late on saturday, naturally. the big event for the afternoon was matt and i grocery shopping. we got lots and lots of yummy food (pizza pockets inculded, yum!) and matty signed up for a credit card because he wanted free cookies. haha, he really didn't know what he was doing.
we headed over to fulfords after supper, for another night of partying. this one wasn't nearly as big or wild as the last, but it was still good times. i remeber being pleased with myself because i remembered most people who were there's names from the night before. yay me. i also tried roasted chicken potato chips... they taste like mister noodle. crazy!

sunday matty melvin and i went out to signal hill. up until then i though yorku's campus was the windiest place on earth. i've definielty changed my mind on that one. but the place was gorgeous! there are definitely picutres of that on the way! matt and melvin decided to try and convince me that i was watching igloos migrating north for the summer... they'd migrate back for the winter so they could live in them. they were actually very convincing.. if the story wasn't so far fetched i would have almost believed them. good job boys! hahaha!

and me in front of st. john's!! so beautiful!
we saw van helsing in the evening. not too much to say about that... it was a decent movie... took too long in some spots, and a wooden carrage with no explosives in it exploded. i don't get it.
monday matt was at work, and i spent the day sleeping in, chatting online and catching up with ontario gossip, and reading harry potter. not what i'd call excitement city, but a good day to settle myself down a little bit. you know what i get like when excited, all jittery and such.
we had supper when matt got home then went out bowling with geoff. 5 pin! i like it so much better. geoff won the first game, and i won the next three. yay!!! then back to geoff's for a few beer, and some south park watching.
matt bowling through his legs.. tee hee
matt worked again on tuesday, though this time i met his friend ryan on icq. ryan had just gotten home from a 2 week vacation in florida, so we decided to go see matt. ryan took me to the mall, we surprised matt, i shopped a bit (at the newfie shop, haha!). ryan had to go to class eventually, and i tagged along since i had nothing better to do that afternoon. i learned calculus at mun for an hour and a half.. and here's the funny thing: the stuff i didn't get in highschool and dropped the course because of now makes perfect sense. bring it mr. segal!
after class ryan and i went to visit geoff, visited at his place for a bit, picked up matt from work ,and went to kfc for dinner. we dropped geoff back home, and went to ryans place for a bit, where we decided to meet up with heidi at a tim hortons. it was an interesting coffe break.. matt was angry with me because i didn't want to do my towlie voice, and refused to speak at all until i did. he suggested (by writing on the bottom of a cup) that we go bowling again, and we did, even though heidi wasn't too keen on the idea. she did well though, i didn't, ryan did okay, and matt redeemed himself from the night before. when we finished, we got heidi to drop us off at geoff's again. she didn't stay because of school the next day, but we found fulford and collins there. we watched hockey for a bit then headed back home. i do believe this was the car ride where we almost got in an accident, and matt started laughing his ass off... crazy little mofo :P
wednesday, the plan was to go to ryan's and rent a movie, though we ended up walking through a park, and looking for fulford. err yes, my memory's escaping me here... can you tell? the movie thing all happened after supper. we watched scary movie 3 at ryan's. by we i mean ryan, fulford, matt, melvin, melissa, sara and i. it's a pretty decent movie, though for some reason the alternate ending was much better than the actual one... what's up with that??
matt and melvin and i took the bus downtown on thursday afternoon. i shopped, the guys watched me shop, and we ended up in a coffee shop called hava java, and matt decided we were seinfeld. we went up to matt's mom's office for a bit to wait for a little bit, as she had offered to give us a ride home if we were there when she finished up. mr. bremner, this is where we called you..

matt's dad took us out for dinner that night, mainly to celebrate staci's (matt;s little sister) birthday. itw as a place called the red pepper, mongolian stirfry.. it' wasn't too bad at all. in the evening we (matt, ryan, melvin and i) decided to go miniputting in the like -4 degree winds. it was fun! terribly cold, though oh-so fun. we stopped at tim hortons on the way home for free hot chocolate and donuts, and the headed to melvin's house to screech me in... err, kinda screech me in, as we couldn't find a cod fish. we watched hockey/mxec for the rest of the night... i was a little tipsy, but the screech hadn't his me nearly as hard as i though it would have.

friday we kinda slept in, i packed, and we watched dawson's creek.. i was really sad to be leaving. matt;s mom took me to the airport, i said thank you like a million times, and good bye, see you soon.. i hope i can.
and that's my trip n a nutshell.
it was a really really weird feeling getting home. i had gotten used to being "us" as i had essentially been matt's shadow for the week. i like being more than one person. the plane ride was especially lonely because of that, i had gotten used to being able to turn to matt and tell him my random comments..
that and the fact that matt easily makes my list of awesome people. seriously guys, this kid is incredible, like you can't not get along with him. i had an awesome week, and i do wanna aee him again soon (like tomorrow), but i guess october-ish (for curling) will have to do. or we could go to newfoundland tomorrow.. i use the word awesome a helluva lot, don't i?
so i've been home for 2 days, and i already want to go back to st. johns, and i'm already trying to come up with some crazy scheme to get me back there. i've gotten no good ideas as of yet. the best thing i've come up with is to transfer to mun, but that's not happening, err, at least this year, haha . though my mom is all cool about matt coming here to visit. that would be cool.. it's unlikely, but it would be cool. she's even into having his dad over for dinner when he's here on a business trip. if i can't go east, ask the east to come to me.
don't get me wrong though, there were things i missed terribly out east. "the gang" mostly, all my friends, my car, my saxophone, not wearing socks.. though when i got back to toronto, i remembered all the things i didn't miss while i was out there: bruce, my mom catering to his every need, traffic, sleeping on the couch, 8am meetings at work, my mother's constant nagging about everything, the crazyness of situations people seem to get themselves into, idiots that realize 37 mintues after closing that "hey, the store's closed, maybe we should get the hell out"... and this list goes on and on and on.
i wish i was 19
