We've just been told that there's another security alert at Edgware Road, and I'm frankly less worried about that. I don't care whether the US requires Brits to get a visa to come over - I just won't bother coming over - but wasn't this exactly the same

i'm wondering if it's the british press scare-mongering. normally i'd take it all with a pinch of salt, but the guardian is so respectable... *dithers*

I think that's a pretty dramatic overstatement/misreading of the American coverage. I've read reports that touched on some of this stuff, but only glancingly; it's definitely not an accurate representation of the overall tone of American news reports.
