OW MY BUM HURTS

Jun 02, 2010 00:51

So, riding was excellent, although it pissed it down and I was soaked to the bone. And am now bruised in suspect places that make me look strange whenever I wince whilst in the process of sitting down. I am assured that this will lead to excellent core body strength, plus thighs of steel. I had an excellent time, anyway, and will be going back in a couple of weeks. (I'd totally go back next week but although it is not prohibitively expensive, twice a month is perhaps all I can manage at this stage!)

I am really really proud of letting go of the saddle and using the reins, btw, especially as Joker, my horse, was rather temperamental (head-wise, not torso-wise. He was v steady in the mid-section). I'm now working on a rising trot, which is difficult to manage if you're too close to another horse, which was my problem today I think. As I get more practice I think they'll lengthen the leash which will make the whole standing up thing easier (and stop my feet from being knocked from the stirrups by the other horse, which was the main reason I kept losing my balance on the trot!).

In conclusion, OW MY BUM HURTS.
