I saw Legally Blonde today.

1. It was brilliant, go see. Sheridan Smith is excellent as Elle.
2. It turns out that Peter Davison is doing a run as Professor Callahan. Who knew? Certainly I never imagined I'd see him singing and dancing his way through Is he gay or European? although he was certainly... Magnetic.

Very fond of Ms Smith: i remember being about 11 and doing NYMT summer workshops in edinburgh- the kind you just had to pay to be in, not pass an audition or anything- and she was staying in the school (it was all based in the boarding house for St Margarets opposite Cameron Toll) as she was doing one of the real productions, in the fringe proper. It was probably bugsy malone and she was an excellent Tallulah. I was *utterly* in thrall to her.

She was just so endearing!! That's the thing that hooked me with Legally Blonge, Elle is so sweet, you just can't help rooting for her. And Sheridan Smith really managed to capture that...
