Dear Yuletide Santa...
It is 1am, and I am (mostly) packed. Woohoo! Bed, then gym first thing, brunch with the birthday-licious athena25, last check that I have all my letters of entry (ZOMG I AM NOT A TERRORIST OR A SALESWOMAN, LET ME IN!!), passport, ticket, certificates of not plague-ridden, etc etc, then out the door and on a plane for approximately 234653743274hours. I shall reach Kinshasa at some point next year.
No idea on the level of internet access out there, so am pleased I got my yuletide sign-up in before travelling!

Thank you so much for writing for me! I have picked some very obscure fandoms this year, so receiving any fic at all is guaranteed to make my day.
If you'd like some rambly thoughts on why I picked these fandoms, tho, they are enumerated (probably at some length, because it is 1am) below. If you'd rather just plunge in head-first, go right ahead! I am pretty hard to squick - it's mostly things like chan, non-con, bestiality, etc. I'm also not keen on most sub/dom stuff in most fandoms, so if you could avoid that, that'd be great. Otherwise go wild!
1. F M Busby - Hulzein Saga
Characters: Any
Request: Maybe something during the dismantling of UET? Or set in the gap between 'The Long View' and 'The Alien Quest'? Or how about Bran's early years as a pirate? I'm also a complete sucker for Bran hero-worshipping Peralta (so if you're a slasher. *g*), and anything with Rissa and/or the Hulzeins would be awesome. Really, anything would make me happy, but a long plotty story would most definitely make me bounce up and down with glee. :)
This is my pulpy 'I'm poorly and need chicken soup and comfort' reading, and I love Bran and Rissa. I am perfectly happy with gen for any of the characters, but I particularly love 'The Long View' and 'Alien Quest', so anything set during that time wins extra bonus points. I also found Bran's crush on Peralta rather sweet (until the requisite bloody ending, of course...)
I didn't even realise anyone else had read these before they went out of print, so anything would make me happy here!
2. David Feintuch - Seafort Saga
Request: Nick/Edgar, please! Maybe during 'Prisoner's Hope', during the long voyage home on the Victoria? Or when Nick is in charge of the Academy is Edger is being his usual insolent self?
Yes, well, when you request Edgar Tolliver/Nicholas Seafort in a fandom with boys in uniform and flogging and all that repressed sexuality, it's pretty obvious you're not in it for the theological discussion. Or maybe some people are, but I'm certainly wanting Nick to get over himself and take Edgar to bed. And then angst about it. Or you could have flogging! In uniform! /one-track mind. :)
Seriously, I have yet to find fanfic for this, so anything in keeping with the books would make me insanely happy.
3. Kim Stanley Robinson - Mars trilogy
Characters: any
Anything during that initial 1st year, especially around the practicalities of setting that up, or anything about the trip over or the training in Antarctica, would be absolutely adored.
I'm very much a near-future speculative fiction geek, so anything set during that first year, or even the trip over or the training grounds in Antarctica, would be an instant win with me. I pretty much love all of the first 100 (except for Phyllis, boo hiss!), so go wild!
4. RPF - NCIS
Request: Again, I'm going to be shallow and request Mark/Michael, please! Maybe around the filming for Requiem?
Moving on from the cerebral into the smutty, there is no deep meaningful aspect to this request. Um. Mark Harmon/Michael Weatherly. If you can manage the slash, I shall love you. If you are a gen writer, not to worry, I love my gen too - so maybe something around the filming of some of the trickier episodes, like Requiem? Or the emotionally demanding ones like Hiatus?
(Yeah, really, I'm leaning towards the slash here, even if it's UST. *G*)
Most importantly - even if you chuck all of the above out and have fun when writing, I am sure that I shall love the fic. So thank you again for writing it, and come play in Yulechat!
