I agree with athena25--I'm very sorry you're ill, but you're not neurotic and you've taken meaningful steps toward getting well.

Oof. I can only imagine how stressful this is.

I guess it's good to know what's going on, but still.

yeah. i have to say, i was reeling slightly once i got home - it really threw me for a spin. after a few hours to think about it, though, it's kinda settled a bit. i mean, i'm stuck on about a million pills a day in any case, so it's not like it's going to make a massive difference to my lifestyle...

*hugs you back* I've decided to take what the consultant said at face value - they caught it early, and you only need surgery if the damage has already been done. seeing as how athena25 made me go to the doctor immediately, and that i'm young, damage is really really unlikely to have happened. the consultant thought that there's like a 5% chance of damage being severe enough to need surgery. the rest just needs drugs. which, hey, i'm on them already, so nothing will actually change...

... except that i can't have 6 cups of tea a day. damnit. *pouts*

also, end of august = yes! beginning of august = yes! in fact, i have a week off at the end of august... *ponders*

Gah! HTML broke! *wails* let's try it again:

95% chance of you being perfecly alright with drugs -- hey, now, if those aren't some good news! & :-)

oh, well, if you're going to be sensible about it... :)

There is! CAFFEINE-FREE TEA! Twinings, even, Lady Grey and others; you can just alternate!! Or I can send you the best roiboos out there;

ooooh, i'd forgotten about that - my mummy sent me some not too long ago. I love it too. I have it with milk, it's almost like normal tea. Crisis averted!

And yes! End of August! Tell me the dates, and I shall try to book flights, how does that sound??

*flails with joy* OMG BOOK NOW NOW NOW!! Er dates, yes - I am free from Saturday 19th to Sunday 27th of August (may have to write a dissertation during it *cough* but I am organised and shall write it beforehand, yes indeedy) - come during any part of that or, oh! FOR ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!1111!!oneoneone!1

*bounces around*

yes, definitely. *g* thanks for that - i needed to calm down. i had a cool drink (of a sort = ate lots of watermelon - that's like a drink, right?), and a nap, and i feel much better about it. :)

as i was telling my parents earlier, i'm now mainly bummed that they didn't discover this when i was 13 and had the most evil phys. ed. teacher imaginable. she had no mercy. *shudders*
