Writing in English

Jul 24, 2009 19:27

Welcome to the new age! It's a pleasure to see that LJ is still thriving, in the middle of the new-comers in blogging world. Nicer looks too! Thanks to the spirit of friendship, bloggers now has the capability of cross-posting their entries to multiple sites at once, reducing the time needed to update and maintain several sites at once. And the recent "marriage" happened is between this good old blog "windchimes", with the newer blog "Pipir Sawah Saiber" at kangbayu.multiply.com. I can post my entries there and automatically cross-posted here! Woohoo!

But due to language difference, ofcourse, only some of you will understand what the heck I am writing about since all of my postings there are done in my native language; Indonesian.

But then again, feeling that my English is getting worsen, not better, I think I have to start sharing my babblings here again. And one quick research says, that since Indonesians is only 10% internet awarene, and only 5% of them blogging, I would lost only a handful of possible reader if writing in English, while neglecting the other 90-something % of potential readers... sad but true.

English language indeed is the key to introduce my thoughts to the wider audience. Now that's a bit funny... since I was stared writing my food reviews in English back in 2000ish with this understanding, but was quickly get bored due to lack of response from my fellow Indonesian readers. Everything takes time to get matured... that what I've reminder over and over again.

And for more reason, my wife sometimes reminding me that one of the reason why she was interested in me in the first place, was because I have an english language blog, here, at the Windchimes... She thinks that's sexy. Wo ho ho ho.

So, all of the reasons to start writing here again, why should I let the obstructions prevails? (bay)
