That's right, we went to the movies three nights in a row this week. Cuz that's the way we roll. Today, I am taking a brief moment to appreciate the joys of being childless and free to leave the house on a whim. And the joys of a spontaneous honey.
We saw Smart People at the Alamo Ritz. It's too small--the old Alamo was much cooler. The theater is wider than it is long, which is bad for obvious reasons. The worst part of Smart People was the long long Sex in the City trailer. I kept exclaiming "TMI! TMI!" I'd prefer to know nothing about the plot lines. I am really excited for it, though. The last season was the best--and I have high hopes that the movie will continue on that note.
Oh, but the best part of Smart People was the guy who used to be on Wings. Dennis Quaid's gut looked fake, which I found distracting. Also, it was very unclear if he & Sarah Jessica Parker actually liked each other. We enjoyed it though.
Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day was great. It was exactly what I was expecting based on the preview--Amy Adams and Frances McDermott were both great. It was fun and glitzy with great music and included a quirkly performance by the moustache girl from Intermission.
Street Kings was a'right. Pretty unremarkable really. Very violent. Then we drove home in Josh's first flash flood.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall opens today. Josh's boss is taking the office + significant others to see it on Tuesday--I can't wait to see it again. For the muppets alone!
