Questions, possibly stupid
I'm curious - how are "lurkers" able to find LJ users? I ask because since I joined, I have gotten friended by folks I don't know. Very recently, I got asked by someone I've never heard of, who is not a Scrabbler, and who I know I have never met. She lives in Georgia. From her photo - if indeed it is real - she is Asian, and if my [what I call] "Ay-dar" is as accurate as usual, she is Korean. So, how did she find me? And why?
Also: should I be suspicious of someone who, through LJ, wants to share very personal details of her life (in this case, that she was raped by two family members) with someone she has never met? And is it weird that no-one ever comments on this person's LJ? In other words, could this be a bogus account of a fictional person?
