These are more guidelines for making a better me and making the most of 2011.

New Years Resolutions 2011

These resolutions are guidelines for a happier, healthier you that is going places in life. As guidelines, some bending is acceptable - but only when the result is progressive - for reasons of personal growth and happiness. Laziness and sour puss-ness are not acceptable justifications for failing to follow said guidelines.

1. Relax more - don’t take life so serious all the time
2. Slow down. Drive the speed limit. Whats the rush? Getting there is half the fun.
3. No more road rage, and observe the rules of the road more carefully.
4. Relish eye contact. Transient connections and sincere interest make for happy hearts.
5. Make eye contact with and smile at random strangers. It’ll warm your soul.
6. Take the time to ask how people are, and show sincere interest in their response.
7. Really listen.
8. Let other people speak. Ask them questions about themselves.
9. Build people up where ever possible.
10. Eat better - solid meals, pack a lunch, and cut out the crap. Try to cook, don’t eat out - and if you do eat out, make it worthwhile…avoid the fast food.
11. Try to buy local and organic when circumstances permit.
12. Go to bed earlier, and be better rested.
13. Wake up with an hour to get ready. Shower. Eat. Take your medicine. A good start to the day goes a long way.
14. Open your blinds and let in the day. Natural light does wonders for the soul.
15. Listen to more music.
16. Disconnect from the technological realm. The world wont end if you don’t check facebook. Go days without turning on your computer. Turn your cellphone off sometimes.
17. Be more on top of household chores - clean your room, wash your car, clean Zachary’s cage, don’t let dishes pile up, etc.
18. Floss daily.
19. Hold Zachary more
20. Ride your bike, go for a run, go climbing, go for hikes, work out - get outside, be physical. You will be happier.
21. Consider joining Diablo Rock.
22. Don’t be so cheap - but still spend responsibly.
23. Look for better employment. Get at least one interview in before the end of January.
24. Buy that bike.
25. Read more. Outside, if you can.
26. Spend more time with your siblings.
27. Personal growth and happiness is a process…update this list when ever necessary with guidelines to making a better you.
