link They were just hanging out at home, a rare day off for them to reconnect and have some much needed bonding time. Only, thanks to Hankyung's need to celebrate with an incredibly oily dish of pig trotter stew the night before, Sungmin now had a spot on his chin.
"It's not that bad," Shindong said, watching Sungmin apply concealer to his face. Ryeowook nodded fervently, holding the mirror steady so that Sungmin could see what he was doing. He'd already been snapped at for having shaky hands.
"Are you kidding? It's the size of a house. It'll be Pompeii all over again when that thing bursts," Heechul said.
"Just let him put on his makeup," Kangin said, waving his hand dismissively. "Though you know, Minnie-ah, if you want to be a girl that desperately, Jungsu-hyung knows a really good plastic surgeon."
The last thing Kangin saw before a compact collided with the side of his head was Sungmin turning and fixing him with a steely glare.
"Is he breathing?" Eunhyuk asked later, staring at Kangin's prone form.
"Just barely," Yehsung poked at Kangin's side and got no response. "God, Sungmin, violent much?"
"He knew better than to call me girly," Sungmin said calmly, picking up the mirror from where Ryeowook had dropped it and checking his reflection.
"Sungmin, we've talked about this," Eeteuk sighed, hands on his hips. "You can't keep going around beating people up. I mean, look at Donghae."
Everyone looked at Donghae, who was attempting to contact the aliens with a styrofoam cup and a twig.
"What?" he asked, realising everyone was staring.
"Nothing," Kibum said, patting Donghae's head. Donghae shrugged and continued waving the cup around the apartment.
"Wasn't he always like that?" Sungmin asked, eyes wide, round and innocent.
"You know, Sungmin's only like this because no one challenges him," Heechul pointed out. Beside him, Kyuhyun muttered something about the pot calling the kettle black and earned himself a smack on the head. "Hankyung could take him. Couldn't you, Hankyung?"
"What?" Hankyung asked, looking up, horrified.
"Beat Sungmin in a fight."
"No."
"Oh go on," Zhoumi urged. "It'll be fun to watch."
Hankyung turned to Zhoumi with a look that suggested utter betrayal. Sungmin sat up, and those in the immediate vicinity flinched instinctively.
"I'm not fighting Hankyung," he said. "He's nicer than most of you."
"He's the reason you've got that pimple," Kyuhyun pointed out.
"Well," Heechul said, folding his arms in disappointment when Hankyung joined Kangin on the floor, bruised pride to match his bruised ribs. "That didn't last very long."
Sungmin rotated his neck and his shoulders, relishing in the way his joints popped and clicked. The adrenaline was coursing through his veins now. He looked around the room, searching for someone who would provide some sort of challenge.
"Hi," he said, eyes lighting on Kibum, lips stretching into a coy smile.
"No," Kibum said.
"Aw," Sungmin pouted.
"Chicken!" Heechul called out.
"There's no need to encourage them!" Eeteuk hissed.
"Kibummie-ah," Sungmin crooned, putting up his fists. "Are you afraid I'll mess up your perfect teeth?"
Sungmin ducked under Kibum's closed fist and turned, grabbing his wrist and twisting it behind his back. Kibum fell to the floor with a thud, groaning.
"Boring," Sungmin sighed.
"Ow," Kibum said.
"Hyung, why don't you calm down?" Siwon asked, holding up his hands placatingly. "Let's just sit down and watch television okay? You can have the remote."
Sungmin spun around, but Siwon was quick to jump out of the way, swinging his foot around in a turning kick. Sungmin ducked under and gave a front snap to the shin of Siwon's balancing leg, sending him to the ground clutching his leg and groaning in agony.
"Wait!" Shindong raised his hands in front of his face. "I'm your friend!"
"I know," Sungmin said. "Which is why this is only going to hurt a little bit."
"Run, Ryeowook-hyung!" Henry yelled as Sungmin cornered him. "Save yourself!"
"No!" Heechul screeched. "Save me!"
"He's deadly, sir, you have to believe us," Eunhyuk said, clutching his dislocated shoulder. Sooman glanced through the window to where Sungmin was sitting outside his office. Sungmin caught his eye and gave him a bright smile, waving merrily.
"He looks harmless enough," Sooman said.
"Looks," Eeteuk said gravely, "can be deceiving."
"Oh hello!" Sungmin chirped when the ladies of CJSH turned up for their appointment with Sooman. "How are you? You all look so nice today." He dipped his head and grinned shyly. "I saw your new music video. You were all so cool."
"Oh, Sungmin, how are you so cute?" Sunday asked, squishing Sungmin's cheeks between her palms.
"As I was saying," Eeteuk said with some effort. "We were hoping that you would send him for some anger management courses. You know, to help him with his violent tendencies."
"Boys, boys," Sooman chuckled, patting their shoulders (Eunhyuk yelped and Eeteuk winced). "I know you like to play practical jokes on one another, but really, next time you should come up with something more believable. Kangin, I'd believe needed anger management, but Sungmin?"
"I'll see you later, sunbaes!" Sungmin said, fluttering his fingers. "I promised Kangin-hyung I'd visit him in the hospital."
"Tell him to be more careful next time," Stephanie called after him. "Falling down stairs at his age. All you boys are so clumsy."
Sungmin paused before he rounded the corner. "Oh, sunbaes, I forgot! Fighting!"
"See?" Sooman turned back to Eeteuk and Eunhyuk. "Perfectly harmless. Run along now."
"But-" Eunhyuk spluttered. "He-"
"I have another appointment. Come back when you have a better joke, okay? I could use a few laughs." Sooman gently but firmly ushered them out of the office.
Eeteuk's phone bleeped.
Hyung, you really shouldn't badmouth me in front of the boss. See you when you get home! Don't forget my danhobak again, okay? ^.^v
"Maybe we can move to China," Eunhyuk suggested.
