An Update!!

Alright, let's see. What all has happened since my last post.

Took a trip to Michigan for a friend's wedding. Had a lot of fun. It was nice to see some of my old high school/college friends there. We hit Canada for the bachelor party. Won around $190 at the blackjack tables in the Casino there.... then spent it all at the strip clubs later that night. Good times.

Took a ride in my friend Justin's 1G Eclipse (he's was the groom). He's had a hell of a lot of work done to it... fully built tranny, upgraded turbo, FMIC, ignition and timing control, decent suspension (nothing too special), some nice racing seats and a bit of carbon fiber work. He's running 25psi boost, and runs low 12s. He has no real fuel management yet, though, and is just dumping fuel to run majorly rich to keep from blowing the engine. He has the AEM stand-alone unit waiting to go in. Once that's in and tuned, he should easily be in the mid-11s.

Pretty much just chilled at home for the 4th. Traffic gets to be insane around the beaches (best place to see the fireworks) and I just didn't feel like dealing with it.

Not a whole lot is new with the car. Changed my thermostat and replaced all the coolant. Also threw in some Royal Purple coolant additive stuff. I put in the OEM Mazda thermostat instead of the generic one I was using before. My car now runs at least 20 degrees cooler. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable running high-rpm runs now. This also means I'm going to be able to hold off on upgrading the rest of the cooling system for a while.

Probably next up will be new rims and tires, so I can finally do that brake swap. Currently looking at the 5Zigen FN-01Rs in 17x7.5 or 17x8. Took a look at them over at Pann Auto, along with the Black Racing Pro N1s. The FN-01Rs are definitely lighter, so I'm going with those. Just have to decide now if I want to go with black or silver.

I've been tossing around which to do first... Turbo II swap, or suspension upgrade (Tein). Right now I'm leaning toward the suspension. Neither is going to happen until I get rid of the two Hondas and get a daily driver... but after that things are going to start coming very quickly, so I still need to keep it in mind at least.

Let's see... that about it. RX-7 BBQ next week, SD Comic Con the week after, drift event next month, track time in October... hopefully quite a few touge runs somewhere in there.
