Fin Rumor

Jun 29, 2005 18:39

There's a hot rumor going around that the Mavs are going to release Finley. As part of the new "collective-bargaining agreement" they could save $51 Million Dollars if they release him. Teams like the Suns, Spurs, an Nuggets are already showing interest in signing him.

I just don't know what to think of the Mavs anymore...They broke up the "Big 3" when they said they were going to build the team around them, for the future..Then, the Suns (lead by Nash) beat the hell out of us and Nash wins MVP. Now, they're talking about releasing the player that put this team back on the map? In the 96-97 we got Fin, he slowly turned this team around and became an All-Star for us, our team became more explosive and by the 99-00 season we had our first 40 win season since the last season in the 80s! Fin helped the Mavs become a winning team, a playoff team. He lead this team back, once Nash hit his prime and Dirk started developing we had the "Big 3" and the chemistry was amazing..We constantly became better..Then, we get rid of Nash, and now we may waive Fin? I hate to say it but if the Mavs waive him and the Suns pick him up, the Suns will be the best team in the league. Look at it this way..Back in 96-97 we were rebuilding and we got Fin and in 98-99 we got Dirk, our team turned around slowly and became an amazing team. Now, the Suns get Nash and the following year may get Fin back (as we got him from them, before) it's almost like a reverse build. They'll be the team getting better (and Fin), and we'll be the team going through the worst part of rebuilding. If we waive Fin, we'll be lucky to reach 45 wins..We'll be lucky to be higher than the 7th seed. We'll go from top 5 to battling to make the playoffs. While the Suns will add upon their 60 win season and become near impossible to beat. I'll follow Fin wherever he goes, and the Suns have always been my second favorite team..but if he lands there, they'll become my first; I'm fed up with Mavs' management, showing no loyalty to the players that turned them around. In some ways I hope they do waive him and he lights them up in the playoffs, and the Mavs have to watch (from their living rooms) as Fin and Nash win the Championship.

Dear Cuban,

Waive Fin and you lose not only fans, but games. You brought excitement to this team, when you became the owner, you helped turn us around...But a owner can only do so much, his players have to play. You gave away our PG (who became an MVP), and now you're wanting to give away our All-Star SG? Go ahead, later on you'll have a hard time getting Veterans to come here, because you have no loyalty..and you gave away your players that played their hearts out for you. I hope you have fun sitting at home, as the Suns march their marry way to the championship.
